To answer some questions:
* Had RNH been injured prior to Monday's roster submission, they would have likely swapped Samanski for Michaels & had less cap space when setting LTIR (more optimal LTIR capture) & included Samanski's PB's in their capture. However, since he was injured after, there was no ability to swap Michaels for Samanski prior to capturing LTIR.
* Because Savoie and his PB's are on LTI, they have LTI PB room for Samanski. That means Samanski takes up $975K cap space while called up
* They could have put Andersen on LTI & added his PB too, but they likely picked the players most likely to be activated soonest so they can leave LTIR as soon as possible & begin accruing cap space
