£45 a year? I can't imagine what I'll spend it on. 87p a week. Suppose I could go to poundland every fortnight.
From today, households will no longer pay VAT on their electricity bills, with average savings estimated at around £45 a year. A welcome change that will help make everyday costs more manageable and provide some relief for household budgets. 1/2

In SNP Scotland, you are banned from buy one get one free promotions, you are however permitted to consume class A drugs including heroine in SNP regime sanctioned 'safe' rooms. What a time to be alive.

Speaking as the elderly mother of three youngsters, who hasn’t had a sex change and knows many homosexuals, it is my able-bodied and sexually-preferred opinion that the Greens are turning into total nutters.

What is this guy on about?Social care in Scotland is every bit as bad as elsewhere in the UK - that’s why we have record delayed discharge and huge amounts of money is wasted keeping people in hospital when they should be home
Ah, so that’s why the SNP was front of Burnham’s mind. His big social care offer is something that the SNP has led the way on and delivered in Scotland. You wouldn’t know that from his speech, however.

I think this young man should join me one night in an operating theatre as I try to stop a drug user bleeding to death from an exploding femoral artery. Hoisting the flag higher above Bute House won't make this better, but doing some basic government inside just might.....
You’ll never guess who Jack Middleton believes is preventing Scot Gov from taking action on drugs deaths.

An extraordinary lady. The flames of social media humiliation had died down and out she charges with a saucepan of petrol to chuck on it. Fucking brilliant.

Couldn't make it up. Some Scottish nats are raging that Georgia here is saying there are questions for @NATS, because, erm, homonyms. A bit like bats rounding on a cricket reporter.
We’ve just been told @GLA_Airport that all flights out of Scotland are grounded because of air traffic control issues. Questions for Nats and CEO Martin Rolfe after huge delays just a few weeks ago, article here as a reminder bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cw0k…

It’s quite disappointing to know that a fabulous member of the Royal family is working hard for her country and her King and yet all the media are talking about are a few attention seeking fakes trying to feather their own nests.

12 years ago today, Scotland voted No. Since then, we’ve had 12 years of constitutional obsession, political grievance and nationalist theatre while the same problems pile up. Chasing a fantasy while public services, economy and politics go backwards. Happy anniversary.
📆 Today marks the anniversary of the 2014 Scottish independence referendum. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 By the end of this parliamentary term, over 1 million young people will be eligible to vote who were too young to have their say in 2014. 🗳️ It’s high time this generation had a say over its future.

I believe the main reason people attend concerts anyway is to have political opinions shouted at them. Idealy I would like to see the music component of these events phased out completely so they can just become very expensive political rallies like what they did with the comedy.

“I was there. I witnessed it first-hand. And as a woman of colour who served on the Equalities Committee, I will not be lectured on these issues by people whose actions I saw for myself.” Dr Gosal also wrote about her experience on this Committee in The Women Who Wouldn’t Wheesht
What absolute cheek and brass neck for Holly Bruce from the Green Party to play the race card and attempt to claim the moral high ground. Let me be very clear: I sat on the Equalities Committee for the majority of my time as an MSP, and I speak not only as a former MSP who witnessed these issues first-hand, but as a woman of colour. During my time on that committee, I saw very little evidence of the Greens supporting my recommendations around properly collecting statistics and information relating to race and inequality. In fact, I witnessed on numerous occasions people of colour being reluctant and in some cases genuinely fearful about coming forward to give evidence to committees because of the political atmosphere and the way they felt they would be treated. So please, spare me the sudden lectures about equality, protecting women and girls, and standing up for people of colour. I am frankly fed up with hearing the Greens wrap themselves in the language of equality and protection when, from my own experience, the reality behind the public statements can be very different. You cannot claim the moral high ground on race and equality simply because it suits the argument you are making today. I was there. I witnessed it first-hand. And as a woman of colour who served on the Equalities Committee, I will not be lectured on these issues by people whose actions I saw for myself. Enough of the empty words and performative politics. 😡
