POLICE RECOVER TWO ABANDONED HAND GRENADES
Police in Roodepoort have recovered two hand grenades that were abandoned in an open field in Wilro Park on 24 September 2026 at about 20:00.
The explosives were discovered by a passer-by, who alerted the police. The police Explosives Unit was called to the scene and safely removed the hand grenades.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Police investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone with information that might assist the police investigations is urged to contact the nearest police station, the CrimeStop number 08600 10111 or alternatively use the MySAPSApp to provide tipoffs anonymously.
