But the financial information is largely gone - and a concentration on markets, investing and economics has given way to Politico style blogging. The Bureau Chief is a former Washington Post lefty who has hired former Politico and Huffington Post activists to cover economics. It’s not working. They have reporters now who don’t understand finance. You open the app in the morning and all you see is political commentary and partisan attacks. It’s become a paid Politico style publication and everyone knows it. It’s fallen - and needs to go back to its roots of economic reporting. There are too many left wing political commentary outlets already.

My husband, @mattvanswol has been locked out of his X account for refusing to delete a post he made this morning. X locked his account for “abuse and harassment” which of course, he did not do. In fact, he did the EXACT OPPOSITE and stated how horrible the video was and how awful it was to watch. How can we “be the news” if we cannot post the news without being forced to delete it? This is wrong. People should be allowed to see the content Matt posts, regardless of whether it is hard to watch or not. Personally, I often find it really difficult to watch some of the content Matt posts because it is so horrible. And that’s exactly the point. People need to KNOW things like this are happening… because without people like Matt, so many stories would not be national news and catalysts for change. @x and @elonmusk please fix this.

Passing time in a tightly packed airport coffee shop recently, I ended up in conversation with a thirty-something couple sitting only inches from me. I was coming from Mexico City and they were going there. After the usual banter, I asked where they were from and learned they were New Yorkers moving out of that city. They didn’t offer a reason and I didn’t press for one. They asked me what I did for a living and I explained that I was a writer currently investigating how cartels were smuggling people into the US.
