Americans elect a president, and a bunch of unelected bureaucrats apparently believe they have the fucking authority to decide whether his lawful orders get carried out.
And now we're getting a glimpse of how this arrogant little racket operates.
Eric Manton, a former USAID employee associated with the Democracy Renewal Group, discussed consulting federal workers about conducting internal agency "blocking" during emergencies. He even instructed that the activity be kept off the form.
Somebody put it on the fucking form anyway.
The proposed tactics? Run out the clock. Develop selective hearing. Forget instructions. Blame the workload. Anything to frustrate implementation of the administration's directives while continuing to collect a government paycheck.
And surrounding this bullshit is a sprawling network of former USAID personnel, the Democracy Renewal Group, Branch-4, federal-worker activists, and nonprofit organizations operating under the endlessly recycled banner of protecting democracy.
Protecting it from whom? The Americans who fucking voted?
Who authorized these people to determine which presidential directives deserve compliance? Who gave political activists the right to recruit federal employees into obstructing the government? And why the hell should taxpayers finance bureaucrats who deliberately sabotage the very administration voters elected?
The arrogance is staggering.
For years, this political establishment has lectured Americans about constitutional norms, threats to democracy, and the sacred obligation to respect our institutions.
Now we're hearing about organized methods for turning those institutions against the elected executive.
And the most revealing detail remains that instruction to keep the discussions off the form.
What kind of democracy-saving operation needs its own participants to conceal what they're organizing?
That's the poisonous heart of this entire affair: a permanent bureaucracy that increasingly treats elected leadership as an inconvenience and its own political preferences as supreme authority.
A government that answers to itself has stopped answering to the people.
And calling that arrangement "democracy" is one hell of a fucking fraud.
