You wouldn’t believe it if you didn’t see it.
A woman in a NYC grocery store got into it with a staff member over a bag of grapes. The sign said $2.99 a pound. The bag came in a little over a pound at checkout, so the total was $3.34. She immediately decided this was a scam.
Then she proudly announced that she had graduated from high school, as if that settled the math.
The employee eventually just sold her the grapes at the lower price. Not because she was right. Because explaining “per pound” to someone who treats a high-school diploma like a law degree was clearly a lost cause.
