Her role is unpaid. The funding is for government programs, not a cheque to her.
But when the prime minister’s spouse represents a policy area receiving major funding, Canadians deserve clear disclosure of her authority, expenses and safeguards.
“Unpaid” answers the salary question.
It doesn’t answer the accountability questions.
