What is the NFL if not a weekly opportunity to be let down? This is why I made a quick Texans-fan BYE week rooting guide to ensure that even with the Texans not playing this weekend, we can still feel the disappointment that we are used to.
Jacobs was at 41 yards before that final drive. He carried the ball 3 times for -2 yards. The 3rd carry sitting at 38 yards I could’ve SWORN he gained 2 yards back. Nope, a 1.5 yard gain. I swear @FanDuel told them to keep him at 39. Pure pain.
I notice Jake Hansen, who got not enough snaps. Maybe they thought he was too susceptible to the reverse takedown blocking technique the Giants were using.
Stealing a win over the Giants after that battle against the Jags in London last week would’ve been awesome. You could see how they were running on fumes essentially all game.
Is this the most subdued TD celebration you’ve ever seen in the Ryans era, given the situation?
I honestly have grown to appreciate these nightly recaps by @AaronWilson_NFL. No trying to be cute or clever. Just a good summary of where the team stands. youtu.be/GkPwXV_48HE?is=21qt…
Introducing the NFL Trade Value Machine
Pick any player and see the projected return (draft picks OR player)
Trade value is a very messy problem and the tool isn't perfect, but should get you in the ballpark!

When @AaronWilson_NFL says a trade “makes a lot of sense,” history tells us it’s practically already in motion.
The smoke around Marvin Harrison Jr. to Houston has serious legs. Reuniting MHJ with C.J. Stroud would break the AFC South wide open. youtu.be/5ImlbaOba0E?is=jQda…
Keylan Rutledge’s breaking down how run blocking actually works in @AaronWilson_NFL video on where four guys do their job perfectly and one missed cutoff ruins the entire play—explains so much about Houston's run game struggles. youtu.be/HK_aWO-ZQco?is=2qyj…
If @AaronWilson_NFL is right, DeMeco taking back defensive play-calling is way more about streamlining pre-snap communication than overhauling the scheme itself. Really helped put the coverage mix-ups and what went wrong against Dallas into perspective.

Great breakdown here from @AaronWilson_NFL on the latest #Texans injury updates. Massive news with Nico Collins back at practice, plus important updates on Al-Shaair, Clowney, and the trenches ahead of the Cowboys matchup. Essential watch right here: youtu.be/Ifs4DqpaZBc?is=Dth9…
Must-watch breakdown from @AaronWilson_NFL on the blueprint to fix the #Texans’ offense heading into Indy. Need to see more 12/13 personnel, establish the run, and let C.J. go to work against that Colts secondary. 🤘👇 youtu.be/CFqciJAWnR4
Sliding door moment. I wonder what happens if instead of a 21 yard Josh Allen TD run to take the lead, it was 1st & 25 after the tripping penalty on the Bills Alec Anderson is properly called after he was beat bad by Will Anderson Jr.
I just know Caleb Williams is the kind of guy who would confess his love to his wife’s sister when he thought the world was ending only to find out it was just a theatrical on air reading of War of the Worlds.
Memphis police arrested 13 people after catching them unloading more than $250,000 worth of stolen fried chicken from an 18-wheeler behind a motel. Officers also recovered guns, fentanyl and cocaine.
“Illegal contact in football is a defensive penalty called when a defender makes significant or prohibited contact with an eligible receiver more than five yards downfield before a pass is thrown.”
Am I crazy or is that what this is?
The All-22 might tell a different story, but Walker’s defensive holding on the 3rd down run on that drive might’ve been just as much of a game saver for the Bills as his sack. Before the hold this looks like Rutledge is in position to get to the backer and Marks is off to races.
He fell forward because he didn’t have a guy ready to run head on into him. Look at the similarities. If Schultz doesn’t let Stroud’s brain get rattled last year they’re probably in the Super Bowl. Oh well. It would’ve been super hard for Schultz to turn and get his hands on him!
CJ Stroud was visibly more comfortable this year than the end of last, but the highlight of the game imo is Schultz learning from his mistake last year and blocking the guy standing between Stroud and impending doom.
Saw @Nate_Tice’s chart on 2020 and it clicked: Watson peaked holding onto the ball & hunting deep shots vs 1-high. Forcing that into modern disguised 2-high shells with capped roofs makes his sacks, picks, and collapse make complete sense.
All I know is the Texans can’t mess around… if they don’t add someone of note, they have to be sure as they can that it’ll work out because they can’t waste another year of that generational defense with an underwhelming offense
Wanted to tweet how I enjoyed @JoshNorris breaking down the NFC South on @Nate_Tice’s podcast until I realized he blocked me on here for evidently saying Daniel Jones is better than Anthony Richardson during the preseason last year.
If you want to get prepared for tomorrow’s #Texans preseason opener, check this 🔗 ⬇️ @AaronWilson_NFL aka “The Alpha” essentially empties his training camp notebook and splices in some live look-in footage from practice. youtu.be/zcZNaooDbEw?is=8oAT…
Fun feature on @TexansCommenter website giving you a chance to build your 53-man Texans roster. I tried to put my Caserio hat on, with a utilization of the Practice Squad to shelve multiple veterans.
The idea of Wemby “blending right in” sounded ridiculous. So I did some digging, and was shocked when I saw the photo of the team Wemby was playing intramural soccer with.
Thought I was overreacting for years, but I finally ran the numbers: KBO exports (excluding Ohtani) literally out-slug MLB MVPs when facing the Astros.
OPS of MVPs vs Astros: 0.730
OPS of Non-Ohtani KBO Exports: 0.910
How I imagine Espada reacted when he heard they were letting Click go…
I remember articles being written after Mike Fiers debacle about how it was unfair the Astros were replacing Luhnow with Click, because they shouldn’t get to punish the Rays by taking Click from them.
