Notice a curious thing: Saudi Arabia has been bombing Yemen relentlessly for weeks yet we have only a vague estimate of the casualties. "Dozens dead" and "some women and children." Yet in Gaza, we get exact numbers minutes after each strike. Why is that?

I wonder if the people who support the Free Palestine movement know how badly they’re being manipulated, and understand what they’re supporting? Do they understand how their opinions and views are being shaped by a massive propaganda machine, happening through a combination of mainstream media and social media? Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists attacked Israel on Oct 7. They murdered over 1200 people, including babies and children and elderly. They raped women. They kidnapped about 250 people. The propaganda machine started right away. The signs were printed and ready to go. People took to the streets in protest. Not to protest the attack. To protest the response from Israel. That hadn’t even started yet. Protestors were holding signs accusing Israel of “genocide” before Israel had fired a single shot. And people believed it. People picked up the cry. “Genocide” became standard language when talking about Israel. The propaganda machine convinced people that rape didn’t happen, even though the world sees pictures of bloodied pants. The propaganda machine convinced people that they were “resisting”, even though they attacked people in their homes and at a music festival. The propaganda machine convinced people that Israel was murdering tens of thousands of women and children, but said they couldn't track the location of the last 20 hostages. The propaganda machine convinced people that Israel was committing genocide and indiscriminately bombing, when the actual combatant to civilian casualty ratio is more than 80% lower than the historical average in war. They’ve convinced people of complete and total lies and fallacies. They jump on every little thing and attempt to use it to further taint global opinion of Israel. They then slowly turned that, from being against Israel, to being against Zionists to being against Jews. They’ve used their propaganda machine to turn people into antisemites and to bring out the Jew hatred people already felt. To normalize it. And perhaps the biggest of the lies the propaganda machine has convinced people of, is that the Palestinian terrorists are innocent victims and that Israel and the Jews are the bad guys.

Worse than Hamas propaganda. I have now seen the documentary NAZA in its entirety, and it is worse than I imagined. Over three years, I’ve tried not to be surprised by ignorance, disinformation, and distortions relating to war, but this is at the top for many reasons. I will write a detailed analysis soon, but one of the worst, a massive claim displayed in the middle of the film, in bright yellow against a black screen: “Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians in Gaza.” Not even Hamas says this. Meaning not even Hamas claims Israel has killed every Palestinian that has died in Gaza since October 7th. Hamas has publicly killed Palestinians to maintain power in the Gaza. There have been battles between Hamas and anti-Hamas clans. Up to 20% of the 12,000 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad rockets fired at Israel fell inside Gaza. Recent Hamas reporting shows natural deaths on their list. To say every person that died in Gaza was killed by Israel is a vulgar lie. There are a lot of other lies, lies by omission, and lies of ignorance in NAZA, but this claim is unique and follows the lies, damned lies, and statistics for accusations that go against the actual number put out by Hamas or reality. A child in Gaza learns early that the greatest thing it can achieve is to die. You march for women's rights and for gay people's right to live freely. You talk about every child's right to a childhood. In Gaza you stand shoulder to shoulder with the people crushing all of it. As long as they fight Israel, you look the other way. Can you really not see the double standard? Or are you just playing dumb to get attention at any cost? You call Israel genocidal. No court has ruled that it is, and the death tolls behind the accusation come from Hamas's own health ministry. You cheer for "the resistance." But in Gaza the resistance has a name, and the name is Hamas. You just won't say it out loud. Look at the leaders the Palestinians have been given. The Grand Mufti who sat down with Hitler. Arafat, who hijacked planes and funneled hundreds of millions into accounts he controlled. Abbas, elected for four years and still in power more than twenty years later. And then Hamas, whose leaders lived in luxury in Qatar while sending their own people to die. You defend a people and close your eyes to the tyrants who have kept it down for a hundred years. Where are your posts now? Where is the speech from the stage? Macklemore, you wrote an entire song for Gaza. Where is the verse about a 14-year-old girl sold for flour? The girls of Gaza only mattered as long as they fit your story. The moment reality stopped fitting, you went quiet. You were never fighting for them, only for yourselves and your own reputation. A reputation that will soon be put to shame. Because the truth always wins, and it takes down those who stayed silent when it mattered. Now sit down and shut up.
