Finally, someone nailed the aesthetics to convey the civilizational stake of our present age. Standing before the acropolis as the sun bathed its marble in warm tones, Rubio makes the case for the grandeur and virtues of Western civilization in all its splendor. Empires have risen and vanished beneath that ridge, and the stones remain, indifferent to the fashion of the hour. Rare to hear a Western leader use vocabulary that modern education has largely purged - sacrifice, duty, inheritance, the debt owed to those who built before us. The men who raised those columns did not do so under the illusion of permanent safety. They understood what separates glory and ruin, and that the only lasting answer to ruin is the deliberate transmission of daring and courage. It's a glorious speech, truly one for the ages.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivers a speech for the ages from the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Listen to the entire speech to understand the dangers the West faces. It's critical to our survival.

The world demonizes Israel 365 days a year. Perhaps, for just one day—October 7th—the critics of Israel could take a vacation from their hysterical hatred of the world’s only Jewish State and find it within themselves to express condolences for the thousands of Israelis murdered, maimed, mutilated, raped, and abducted at the hands of Hamas.

NEW: A senior Tory MP has spoken of her anger that police kept her and other serving and former MPs in the dark for months after their names were found in a dossier at the home of the man accused of murdering Ann Widecombe. The MP was only briefed by police on Monday that her name appeared in the list, despite claims officers knew about it shortly after the arrest of Joshua Kerry in July. “It’s outrageous that we were not told sooner,” she said. More than 100 high profile individuals - including former and severing MPs and peers - had their details included in the dossier. Among those on the list included a former senior Cabinet minister. Putting terrorists and aggressors on the same moral plane as their victims and targets is repugnant. At best it whitewashes horrible crimes, at worst it feeds the culture of murder and martyrdom that Hamas espouses.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

In September, a White House security official wrote to a colleague in the administration: “The UK is making another attempt to put a backdoor on iCloud. This time by their secret court. They’re going to lean on a court order to justify it. They will use this back door to spy on the administration and Nigel Farage.”

Up to this point I agreed with the saying "The Right thinks the Left is wrong whereas the Left thinks the Right is evil." After October 7 it was impossible to argue the Left isn't evil.
This was one of the most depraved scenes in modern history - still chills me to my core that so many people watched this barbarism and immediately sided with it

Never forget: they don't want your sympathy, they want your surrender.
France took a very warm stance towards Palestinians, recognized the state, jeopardized billions of dollars worth of contracts with Israel, only to still be depicted as the most evil country on earth. Hope others take note. It was never about Israel.

This is incredibly insensitive by @Reuters, showing Gaza on October 7th remembrance day. The only Israelis who were in Gaza on October 7th, 2023 were the 250 Israelis who were kidnapped by Gazans. Shameful of @ReutersPR

UK electricity generation is about 0.2% of global emissions. Nobody is tackling climate change by building windmills while Asia builds coal and gas.
Our children and grandchildren will not forgive us if we don’t tackle the climate crisis. It’s the right choice for the economy and for the people and places we love. Watch my full response on @bbcquestiontime 🔽 bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00328g…

Gaza is the most lied about war in history. There was no genocide, no famine, no intentional targeting of children. These are modern-day blood libels. We need to expose all the Islamo-left lowlifes who spread these lethal falsehoods, says Brendan O’Neill buff.ly/v0hJX0j
