I am surprised that people are surprised this is how I prompt Claude. Talk to Claude the way you would a coworker. There's no secret to prompting. There's no need to be overly scaffolded or prescriptive for most tasks -- give Claude a goal, and it will figure it out. Back in the Sonnet 3.5 days, your prompt mattered a lot. Nowadays, it's much more important to communicate to the model: 1. What you want it to do 2. How much effort you want it to spend 3. How it should verify that it did the right thing

I deleted a post about IP and AI since it may have given the impression that I condone breaking IP or regulations when it is for AI. My point was that IP makes sense in many situations because the cost of making an alternative product is too high, and AI make this cost ~0.

Very well written 👌
Pakistan’s colonial past isn’t just history. In my latest column for @arabnewspk, I wrote about how the colonial legacy has chained Pakistan’s power structure. How does, nearly 80 years after independence, Pakistan still run on laws and institutions built to control its people? arab.news/rvvga

A family comes in with headaches, nausea and dizziness. No fever. Oxygen saturation 99%. I’m thinking something they ate. Then the stem mentions a gas heater running all night in a closed room. Carbon monoxide poisoning. The fucking pulse oximeter looked reassuring. I could’ve sent them straight back into the house that was poisoning them.

Remember the 90s internet chat rooms culture. The westerners would laugh "hehehe" while South Asians.. pakistan/india.. would say "hahaha". The difference intrigued and bothered me. Wondered 'why can't the westerners laugh fully?' Never understood. Anyway, guess we won then☺️
A friend of mine acknowledges that something is meant to be funny by laughing with 5 has: hahahahaha. Then if he actually found it funny he shifts to a higher pitch on the 6th ha and emits several more verses of has.

AI has supercharged the bogus research mill Pakistani universities have been running for the past 2 decades
We have become far too good at celebrating mediocrity in higher education. I see Pakistani universities proudly advertising a place among the world’s top 1,000. Is that really the height of our ambition? And when Hazara University in Mansehra and LUMS end up in the same ranking band, I have serious questions about what these rankings actually measure. Pakistan needs to pull up its socks. Improve teaching. Produce meaningful research. And get serious about submitting accurate, complete, verifiable data to international ranking organisations. Our students deserve better than a higher education system that celebrates mediocrity while squandering their potential …

Extremely disturbing. Farzana is one of the most courageous journalist . We stand in solidarity with her.
Stand in solidarity with @farzanaalispark who started her career as a reporter & when I met her during the MMA govt in KP during Gen Musharraf regime she was warned that if she continues to report she will be attacked. So #FarzanaAli was moved to the desk where she flourished & rose to be the only woman bureau chief in Pak of any tv channel at the time. She grew with Aaj & Aaj TV grew with her.Journalism is a noble profession & only those who speak truth to power earn their credibility. So more power to you.

Hats off to Farzana Ali for her courage and the way she had covered KP at a time when it was almost impossible for women journalists to report from the spot. After Munizae Jahngir its Farzana who become victim of unjust pressure.

Following the sudden removal of Spotlight anchor Munizae Jahangir, Aaj TV drops veteran journalist Farzana Ali from her role as Peshawar Bureau Chief. The move has triggered widespread condemnation from journalists, political leaders, and civil society groups who view it as a direct assault on press freedom.
