Looking at the onboards, there was definitely enough time for McLaren to pre-empt the VSC.

Easy with hindsight, but imagine this: 1. Pre-empt the VSC and box Lando 2. Race control wait another 30 seconds to call the VSC 3. Kimi stays out 4. VSC called 5. Kimi cheap pit stop The fact is Lando's race was in the hands of when the race director pressed the VSC button

Kimi said bono told him to slow down on purpose,it also ended at turn 21 pits are past turn 22 and and red bull principal said they were surprised because they saw vsc ending and thought McLaren would tell lando to stay out, this is lando covering their ass once again this is their “no blame culture” showing once again. They absolutely could’ve seen it both starting and ending they just employ idiots.

there wasn't even a need for a VSC he's safely out of the way but they are so trigger happy with it this season

I want to know why Lance couldn’t drive into that big wide gaping area directly in front of him then not VSC would have been needed

IF you think they should've stopped before the VSC was announced please stop, it would be rediculous to do so

VSCs need to last long enough that everyone gets a chance to benefit from it. NASCAR and IndyCar both do it. They don’t screw a handful of drivers based on a Race Director’s judgement call.

In a way, stroll parked in a pretty safe place so was there a need for a VSC in first place?

You know, it was the Same Spot Lewis stopped I heard and there wasn’t a VSC. You never know until it’s there. Imagine he goes in and there isn’t one? Stroll didn‘t Crash, it could have gone very fast. It’s just bad timing. Pre-empting from the lead? You don’t do that.

Watching this video just made me even angrier against the fia. Stroll's car was almost inside the paddock, come on. There was no need to call a VSC. Even a double yellow would have been a bit too much and more than enough

I would like to see some sort of report on why a vsc was called and why it lasted so long. To me it looks like all the car needs is a quick roll forward. I understand the VSC is called if a marshal has to go out there but surely that would have taken maybe 10 or so seconds.

The key factor is racing engineer, sometimes I think that Will is not on the same level as Lando.

FINALLY someone aknowledge this, Norris lost the win because of his team not because of the FIA

It also could've only been a double yellow and no VSC. Pitting then would've been ever worse

They need to adjust the VSC to the race leader and to make a call out for pit stops if VSC time permits.

pre-empt? They could have pushed it out of the way within seconds regardless.

Or tell him to slow down literally

Sure. What else do you want the pitwall to do with their crystal ball?

There looks enough gap after RUS for the marshals to push it that 2 feet to get it behind the fence. That’s probably where McLaren were at

big chance if he pre empt the vsc then the vsc doesnt came out at all

There really wasn’t, he would e have had to give up almost all of his 6s lead on the chance that a car that appear to have just locked up into the runoff would cause an SC If they ended the S3 yellows and Norris was only 1s ahead of Kimi I bet a lot of people would have been mad

I agree there was time but given how close Lance was to the off track area, it could have stayed double yellows and not VSC

In Kimi's radio, Bono warned him about the VSC and adviced to slow down. Something McLaren can never do.
