You should focus your time/your child's time on improving at the sport you're playing. If you're good enough, the coaches find you. If you go to a small school and ball out for 1-2 years, the portal finds you. I've seen this happen a lot in my decade of covering prep sports.
Rivals is charging high school athletes and parents $499 for an 'evaluation' by a Rivals scout.
The fee includes a scouting report, grade, film evaluation, coach interview, and consideration to be ranked on their site.

NEW: The US military was prepared to board a Chinese vessel in the Middle East earlier this spring -- during war with Iran -- after an intel report concluded it was transporting components of a nuclear weapons program.

BREAKING: Saudi Aramco has cancelled all of its September European crude oil allocations and is scrapping every cargo slated for late-September loading onward, with a European lifter saying no Saudi oil cargoes at all until November, per initial reports citing oil trading firm Onyx and market sources.
That takes the world's largest exporter out of the European market for the rest of September and all of October, a de facto force majeure on Saudi crude to Europe from the 3rd largest energy producer in the world.
