Excited to share that I recently joined @perplexity_ai as a product designer / ui engineer, working alongside a phenomenal team (and @henrymodis, again!). AI-native search is just beginning to take flight and I’m happy to get to play a small part in its development. Let’s go!
We’re rolling out effort controls in Computer’s model selector.
Effort presets combine the orchestrator model and reasoning depth to control how deeply and efficiently Computer works through a task.
Available now on web. Coming to mobile and desktop soon.
Where are agentic traders coming from?
Here's the breakdown of where agentic trading volume came from last week:
Perplexity - 26.8%
Claude - 19.3%
Grok - 15.3%
ChatGPT - 1.1%
Claude Code - 0.7%
CLI/Other - 36.8%
Jennifer Lawrence shares her first Instagram post:
“If anyone says anything negative, I will quit. Immediately. If anyone thinks something mean, I’ll know. And I’ll quit.”
Websites created with Computer now have desktop and mobile previews.
Use the artifact side pane to switch between views, refresh the preview, edit the site, or leave a comment.
It is wild to me how slept on @perplexity_ai is by the market. I use Perplexity Computer constantly.
Here is why:
1. I can share skills easily across my team easily in the cloud.
2. It is very good at model routing and selection and I have access to all the best models from all the model providers.
3. My perplexity computer tasks sync seamlessly between my desktop and cloud.
4. It is easy to build workflows from any task in computer for important reoccurring jobs.
5. Computer tasks process in the cloud so I don’t have to constantly have my desktop on and running.
Now they have solved a critical security concern for many AI users.
It isn’t perfect. I find that the design output for artifacts to be lower quality than using the same models in their own harnesses. Additionally it has bugs where tasks get hung up or take longer than they should to run.
You can now turn a trading idea into a durable agent running 24/7
> One click connect your account
> Pick the model you want to use
> Describe the rules & strategy
> keep the agent scoped to a portfolio
That's it. You're now an early adopter of AiFi
In a compute and power-constrained world, a good chunk of agentic inference needs to move to local hardware. A drastic version of that is a fully local agent runtime, where the model (orchestrator and subagents) and the harness run locally. Portable Computer from Perplexity is this. Launching today for @nvidia DGX Spark.
Today we’re launching Portable Computer on @NVIDIA DGX Spark.
Portable Computer is a fully local version of Perplexity Computer, where the entire runtime: orchestrator LLM, subagent LLM, agent harness all run on your local hardware. No cloud dependency.

Holy moly, just stumbled upon some @perplexity_ai sketches from a lost time.
Designed by me, summer, & tully.
Sorry @henrymodis + @apostraphi I guess I never sent these?!
We launched Projects today which has been a huge effort. Computer is now multiplayer, and keeps separate shared memory context for individual workstreams. We have been using projects internally for a while now and it’s a game changer for doing real work, at work. Hat tip to @_andychung, @cleerview, @pklada, @lizeyao and many more for the massive effort from many angles. 🫡
Today we're launching Projects, an evolution of Spaces.
Projects are hubs for ongoing work in Computer. A single place to manage, create, and collaborate on tasks with a shared file system and persistent memory.
“Open weights strengthen competition and competition is what keeps the benefits of AI broadly shared rather than concentrated in the hands of few”. We believe this strongly at @perplexity_ai and are co-signing this letter, with @nvidia! Thanks to @a16z for putting this together!
For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.

We’re open sourcing WANDR.
WANDR is an internal benchmark we built and used for building deep and wide research capabilities inside Perplexity Computer.

Claude Fable 5 is now available in Computer as an orchestrator model.
This is Anthropic's state-of-the-art model for long, complex tasks. Available only to Pro and Max subscribers in Computer.
Today we're announcing that hybrid agentic inference is coming to Perplexity Computer.
Computer can split tasks between a local model running on your machine and frontier models in the cloud. This keeps private data on your device and maximizes token efficiency.
Coming soon.
Perplexity is building one of the most secure scalable agent runtime sandboxes in the market right now. A blog post on how we:
1. Handle proxy API keys for agents securely
2. Run safety detection for all content accessed by agents
3. Encrypt data passed via connectors to agents
4. Decouple storage and compute reliably
Computer is secure by default. Every task runs in its own hardware-isolated sandbox with VPC-level storage and compute separation.
Agents are authenticated with short-lived proxy tokens instead of raw API keys.
Today we're releasing Personal Computer.
Personal Computer integrates with the Perplexity Mac App for secure orchestration across your local files, native apps, and browser.
We’re rolling this out to all Perplexity Max subscribers and everyone on the waitlist starting today.
