I've not used plan mode in a long, long time.
You don't need a mode to iterate in software design phases; just chat. Still... how we shape, align on, and review work has plenty of room for innovation.

we’re thinking of killing plan mode and using the shift+tab hotkey to adjust effort levels
I don’t think the models need plan mode anymore, but if you’re a plan mode diehard would love to get your feedback on why

If you want to PR it - there is 2 helpful things,
1. Code review does this with a psuedo lsp system, using ripgrep (works well enough and is performant).
2. The plan ui has hover components for code lines and line ranges, might be able to feed into that system that captures the underlying code
