AirnodeHub use case confirmed
Just had my first organic agentic x402 magic experience β€’ Needed my agent to access a website for which I didn't have an account. β€’ It discovered (on its own) Apify, which accessed that service on its behalf. Apify accepts x402 payments, which is what my agent then suggested β€’ Agent set up its own wallet (it has never done a crypto tx before), gave me a deposit address on Base. I sent it some USDC (and no ETH) β€’ Agent then connected to Apify on its own, arranged payment via x402, and got the data it needed, reporting it back to me. The whole sequence involved just 4-5 single sentence prompts from me. That was all pretty magic, but then I asked it this question. Agentic commerce on crypto rails is the future. agent was pi agent model was kimi-k3-fast-api on venice.ai/api

More validation for Api3’s increased focus on curation
once you've seen it, you can't unsee it @wintermute_t is entering the vault curation space

Big validation for Morpho; Api3’s vaults and curation have room to grow.
0/ Today, the Ethereum Foundation deposited 2400 ETH and ~$6M stablecoins into Morpho’s yield-bearing vaults. Morpho is a pioneer in permissionless DeFi protocols and consistently demonstrates a commitment to Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) principles.

Some Api3 alpha from @thevet
Our OEV-boosted USDC vault is now sitting at $14.17M TVL with 13.9% APY, the highest in its category. The safest venue to earn the best yield. Right on mainnet. Only blue-chip collateral. app.morpho.org/ethereum/vaul…

Api3 really timed the treasury diversification into $ETH nicely. In well below $2k, well before ETH treasury companies / DAT were on the radar. Sustainable reserves, sustainable revenue model

This is how DeFi protocols and dapps (1) beat their competitors and (2) answer β€œwhere does the extra yield come from”: returned oracle MEV
1/ Imagine Morpho markets, but supercharged. Value from liquidations isn’t lost β€” it’s captured and sent back to the users of that specific market. Introducing OEV-Boosted Morpho Markets. Built on @MorphoLabs, curated by @Yearnfi, powered by Api3. blog.api3.org/introducing-oe…

In effect when calculating effective OEV recapture to Compound (% captured * % split), the choice is: Api3: all networks, 70% effective recapture to Compound Redstone: 2/10 networks, 54% to Compound Chainlink: 9/10 networks gradually, 24.75% to Compound

Chainlink: - projected 40-50% recapture rate - retains 45% profit - reliant on Flashbots MEV-share - edited original post that was Eth Mainnet to only to every chain except Unichain with a "gradual rollout"

Redstone: - only applying to integrate on Unichain and Polygon - projected 90% recapture, but says "As RedStone OEV has not had a deployment with outside liquidators, we cannot make claims based on previous deployments" .. see below, skeptical - retains 40% profit

Api3: - ready to integrate on all Compound v3 markets (see list below), and OEV is already live for Compound on Mantle - provides a 53 page in-depth doc on architecture - projected recapture rate of 87.5% based on other current dapp integrations - retains 20% profit

Can usually only get 2-3 replies in before the LINK marines descend. Discussing the tech necessarily means talking about improvements by competitors, and that isn't tolerated. Also difficult to find writings by neutral parties that know about oracles other than Chainlink or Pyth

Api3 coined the term OEV in 2022 (medium.com/api3/oracle-extra…) and launched the first solution that used its own infra. UMA’s Oval was an added intermediary wrapper for chainlink mainnet feeds with flashbots infra.

Api3’s @OEVNetwork enables more % of OEV returned to dapps, in a more permissionless manner, and has been doing so for longer on more networks.

Eventually, tradfi will discover you can also auction orderflow in oracle updates. See the liquidation opportunity, bid for the update, capture the delta. Realising that @OEVNetwork’s future revenues may be astronomically higher with leveraged equities and derivatives.
It can’t be a coincidence that Citadel said they’d be getting into crypto around the same time Robinhood started edging us that they want to as well. RH isn’t going to charge fees to trade on their chain, they’ll just sell orderflow. Zero is the lower bound on fees that a chain can charge, not β€œasymptotically 0” literal 0. Posting data to an L1, if they even decide to do that, will be a paltry back office cost for them. There’s nothing really that functionally different about a single centrally sequenced L2 and the broker-dealer front end that RH uses now for tradfi. They’ll probably make money the same way too.

Entrenched incumbents have an outsized moat in crypto. Some even require exclusivity, despite how much of this industry relies on open source software and meritocratic design. @OEVNetwork would have caused Api3 to rocket past other oracles’ adoption by now otherwise.
we have a BD crisis in this space and no one is talking about it.

More macro-based fear and selling, but this time, in perhaps the most bullish and promising environment for crypto and smart contract-leveraging applications and businesses ever.
