In my job; I wave to driver as the train arrives. This is both a cheery hello, but also an important acknowledgement of the train's presence, and the hazards that it presents.
Anyway, caught a tram tonight, and by reflex waved to the driver. Probably thought I was a tit. 😂

A massive, hard won victory for the Campaign for @LevelBoarding and its allies in @TransportForAll, as well as supporters of @Railnatter given they've helped me to lobby for this behind the scenes.
Welcome in GBR's rolling stock strategy is the commitment to low-floor trains that provide level-boarding. This is long overdue!

As mentions in a previous thread, the "Moving Britain, by Design" GBR livery designs are being given a refresh, but the basic still stands; improve micro-wayfinding and accessibility designs on main vehicles first, any embellishments can be added to ends of coaches/whitespace.

The recent Department for Transport post on battery-electric trains, coupled with the recent order for TPE, is a worrying indicator as to where the Rolling Stock and Infrastructure Strategy is headed.
Battery-electric trains aren't a viable solution for freight.

Ok, hear me out; what if HM Treasury released retail "railway" bond, ring fenced for GBR Cap-Ex spending?
I'd invest, and (likely) so would our pension funds...
New British-built accessible trains are welcome, but these trains won't be owned by GBR - they'll be leased from private profiteers.
