trying to find a discord replacement that works on linux that's got the same features is tough without paying for a VPS to host it on. I can't afford another monthly bill at the moment
@ValourApp looks the best so far but sadly, no linux version and i don't like relying on browser based chatting cuz sometimes I'll close the browser to play a game or if the browser locks up I gotta stop my chats and restart them.

The U.S. has not signed on to this UN treaty yet, and I hope we can pressure our government to abstain. But it's so crucial to recognize the onslaught of "online safety" laws in the US as part of this global backsliding of free speech rights
Cybercrime law should target crimes committed against computer systems, but in the name of "online safety" governments continue to weaponize them to police ideas expressed through technology/online platforms.

It's called PERSONAL COMPUTER for a reason. People shouldn't have to enter their age for something they already own or purchased. Whoever approved this needs to be sent to Furnace Creek with no water.

California, Colorado, and Illinois have passed laws requiring operating systems like Windows and macOS to collect users’ ages.
California’s law starts in 2027. For now, simply declaring your age is enough, but companies could eventually use facial scans, government IDs or other verification methods to prevent minors from simply lying.
The really important part is that these laws could have effects far beyond the states that passed them. Apple, Google and Microsoft may decide it’s easier to build one age-verification system for everyone rather than completely different systems for each state
