Elon Musk and Trump officials have given conflicting accounts of the slowdown of Starlink and Starshield services used by Ukraine.
But this is clear: The slowdown crippled Ukrainian defenses and endangered innocent lives.
Congress must investigate who authorized this decision and hold those responsible to account.

The attempted shooting at @CongressmanRaja’s temple is a harrowing reminder of the threats facing Hindu communities and other communities targeted by religious and racial hatred.
I signed this letter demanding that the FBI investigate this incident as a potential hate crime.
I led 105 lawmakers in demanding the FBI investigate the attempted mass shooting at my family’s Hindu temple in Aurora as a potential hate crime.
We must confront the rising tide of anti-Indian hate and the online threats putting our communities at risk.

Proud to have received a perfect 100 on the Human Rights Campaign's Congressional Scorecard for my commitment to LGBTQ+ equality!
I will always stand up for the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans and push back against efforts to roll back their hard-earned freedoms.

Every American outside of the richest 1% is paying more as a result of Donald Trump’s tax and economic policies.
Families across the Sacramento region deserve better.
That's why I'm fighting in Congress to bring down costs, make our tax code fairer, and build an economy that works for all Americans.

I was asked earlier this week by CNN if I thought the Trump administration was abandoning Ukraine.
Trump’s decision to waive new sanctions on Russia should leave no doubt: that is exactly what is happening.
My Republican colleagues pushed hard to pass the Lindsey Graham Russia sanctions bill before we left town. They ought to be standing up and screaming at the top of their lungs that we don't side with Russia.
We must stand with the Ukrainian people.

Trump’s diesel deal gives Vladimir Putin millions of dollars to finance his war against the Ukrainian people while doing next to nothing to lower prices at the pump.
This dangerous and irresponsible decision must be reversed.
That’s why I joined 17 of my colleagues in introducing bipartisan legislation to block it.
🚨🚨Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks, joined by 17 House colleagues, introduced the bipartisan Prohibit Corrupt Russia Oil Deals Act to block President Trump’s corrupt deal with Vladimir Putin to purchase and import Russian diesel.

Today is World Food Day, yet millions of Americans are going hungry because of Republican cuts to SNAP and the rising cost of groceries due to Trump's tariffs.
New Dems will continue fighting against these reckless policies so that no American has to go hungry.

Ranking Members @RepGregoryMeeks & @RepBera joined bipartisan colleagues in a letter to Amb. Waltz calling on the US to oppose an effort by the Burmese military junta to credential or seat a junta-appointed official—a brazen attempt to legitimize its sham electoral process before the UN.

I was proud to recognize Ismael Pantoja, owner of Cantina Azteca in Carmichael, with our October Small Business of the Month award!
For the past decade, Cantina Azteca has shared the flavors and traditions of Mexico with our community, bringing families, friends, and neighbors together through great food and hospitality.
As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, I'm grateful for local businesses like Cantina Azteca that enrich the cultural fabric of our community.
Congratulations to Ismael and the entire Cantina Azteca team on this well-deserved recognition!

Ukrainians continue to fight admirably to defend their own country.
We have to do everything we can to support the Ukrainian people — not betray them and take the side of Vladimir Putin.

I’m horrified to learn that Congressman Krishnamoorthi and his family were worshipping when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans.
This incident is a stark reminder of the threats facing Hindu communities and other communities targeted by religious and racial hatred.
Every American has the right to worship in peace. Congress must do more to combat hate-fueled violence and protect our communities from these threats.
My family and I were worshipping at our Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans. I'm grateful to those who helped prevent a tragedy, but we must come together to confront the hatred that put so many innocent lives at risk.

Trump's war with Iran is driving energy prices higher and his tariffs are making everyday goods more expensive.
We must bring this war to an end and reverse Trump’s tariffs to lower costs for American families.

It was an honor to recognize Evelyn Margolin of Cameron Ranch Elementary School in Carmichael as our October Educator of the Month!
For 25 years, Evelyn served as a special education teacher in the San Juan Unified School District. Throughout her career, she championed inclusive education, supported families, and helped ensure students of all abilities had the opportunity to succeed.
Even in retirement, she continues to give back through Margolin’s Garden of Learning, a garden she founded where she teaches weekly lessons in science, nutrition, and environmental stewardship to students from transitional kindergarten through fifth grade.
As the son of a public school teacher, I know firsthand the lasting impact that dedicated educators have on our children and communities.
Thank you, Evelyn, for your decades of service and continued commitment to the next generation of learners!

Trump’s war with Iran is driving up gas and diesel prices, fueling inflation, and raising costs for families across the Sacramento region.
The impact goes far beyond the gas pump. Higher fuel prices make it more expensive to produce and transport goods, increase operating costs for businesses, and ultimately drive up prices on everyday essentials.
We must end this reckless war and bring down costs for the American people.

This is a rough September inflation report.
-Biggest monthly jump since May
-Higher than expected inflation AND core inflation
-Core Inflation for the past 3 months is running at well over a 3% annualized pace...that's problematic
-Inflation (3.7%) totally wiping out wage gains (3%)
Yes, high gas and diesel prices are the major driver, but also big jumps in airfares, used car prices, recreation, medical and apparel. The energy shock is spreading.

Janine and I had a great time at the California Capital Airshow this weekend at Mather Airport!
The Sacramento region has a proud history of aviation and military service. This year’s airshow celebrated that legacy, honored our veterans and service members, and inspired the next generation of aviators, engineers, and STEM innovators.
Congratulations to Darcy Brewer and the entire California Capital Airshow team on 20 years of bringing this incredible event to our region!

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Native peoples in Sacramento County and across our nation.
Sacramento County is the proud home of Wilton Rancheria, our county’s only federally recognized tribe.
Under the leadership of my friend and Sacramento native Chairman Jesus Tarango, the tribe continues to preserve its heritage, strengthen our local economy, and serve as an important partner in our community.
I’m grateful for Chairman Tarango’s leadership and look forward to our continued efforts to strengthen our region for generations to come.

Public executions are the hallmark of oppressive regimes, not free democracies.
This latest display of deeply disturbing judgment from Secretary Hegseth only strengthens the case for Congress to hold him accountable.

New findings in a report released by the New York Federal Reserve reveal that the cost of everyday items would have DECLINED without Trump’s tariffs.
I will continue fighting alongside my Democratic colleagues to reverse these tariffs and lower costs.
