Pune commuters may soon get relief as the Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar Metro is now expected to begin operations by the end of July or the first week of August. The first phase, from Maan to R.K. Laxman Museum (Baner), will cover 13.3 km with 12 stations, while the remaining stretch is expected to be completed in August. The 23-km metro corridor, being developed by PMRDA under a public-private partnership, has missed several launch deadlines due to construction delays. Once operational, the route is expected to improve connectivity between Hinjawadi IT Park and central Pune, benefiting thousands of daily commuters.
