The overwhelming majority support a rules-based system which includes deportations. This isn't a niche extremist position. These views are not represented in our mainstream media, which has been overwhelmingly negative and critical and hostile to a rules-based sytem which includes deportations. We now get regular sob stories of rejected immigration applications presented as journalism, it is not. If there is a deportation, it is criticised for affecting children and costing a lot and disrupting people who have "integrated with the community" These views are not represented by "extremist monitoring outfits" like so-called "Hope and Courage Collective", European Digital Media Observatory EDMO Ireland and the so-called "Institute for Strategic Dialogue" who appear to demonise such views. The poll results are not reflective of the political volume levels, where a small number of vociferous policians overwhelm politicians who reflect majority views. Unlike other questions in the Irish Times poll, there is no analogue to the question above in 2024, but in general there has been a hardening of attitudes towards immigration.

Simon Harris, who appointed himself Minister for Finance earlier this year, has never had a job of any kind outside of politics. He has zero academic qualifications beyond his leaving cert. He started two different college courses but dropped out twice. He has never been self-employed. Never started a business, never created a job, never had to worry about covering payroll or paid a penny in VAT. Now he runs our economy. But how does that happen? Simon is in the job he's in because he's exceptionally good at playing politics. He managed to climb the Fine Gael ladder all the way to the top. But it would leave you wondering - is there any other job in which a person's complete lack of any relevant education, skills, training, work experience or track record would be set aside? Simon was democratically elected so he is entitled to be where he is. But is Ireland really best served by giving top jobs to people with no knowledge of what they're doing? The upcoming budget will be a great example. Simon will use our money to buy votes for those from traditional Fine Gael income brackets - and absolutely stick the boot into those who come from areas, social backgrounds and age brackets from whom he has nothing to gain. Decisions won't be made on the basis of what's best for the people of Ireland. We've a pure politician in charge. Simon will make decisions on the basis of what's best for Simon.

The health system is FF/G and their friends on the left’s best justification for radical demographic change. And it is a Ponzi scheme. The more people you let in - 1.2 million in just over two decades - the more doctors and nurses you desperately need. Acting in desperation, and unwilling to offer the security and conditions needed to attract the best and retain the Irish, you lower your standards and recruit from countries where standards are inconsistent and credential fraud is routine. So everyone using the Irish health system becomes less safe. When they say, “Shur, the health system would collapse without immigrants,” they mean that without recruiting anyone claiming to be a doctor or nurse from non-EU nations - no matter whether their credentials are really checkable, and regardless of the standard of training they may have had - they cannot get through the mass of cases created by adding 1.2 million people to an already strained health system. They also mean that a certain amount of malpractice, pain, suffering, unnecessary death through incompetence, and the odd sexual-abuse case is acceptable. They have spun playing Russian roulette with non-EU healthcare workers, in order to service mass immigration, into a positive. “The health services would collapse without immigration” is simply the new “in the national interest” of Celtic Tiger-era excess: the mindless call-and-response between FF/G and the public that has been going on for decades. And not only is the dangerous decline in standards of healthcare in Ireland acceptable; it is the establishment’s best case for open borders. But anyone who has read Vandalising Ireland, or has been following @CNolanOffaly, will know that since the beginning of the mass-immigration experiment, successive justice ministers - chief among them Helen McEntee - ignored and bypassed background checks on people entering the country, particularly non-EU arrivals. Ireland is a soft touch, and the world knows it. Nobody should now be surprised to hear that minimal (if even that) vetting of medical staff from high-fraud-risk nations has occurred under FF/G, and that that negligence is being abused. FF/G are the fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants uniparty. The “shur, it’ll be grand” uniparty. They do not give a damn about any Irish person. More than that, it has been decades since they even pretended to. They have operated with reckless abandon for decades, and every time they have been caught with their pants down they have faced no consequences. So now they treat the public with contempt, knowing they are untouchable. There is no low to which FF/G will not stoop. Too many people still have not internalised that fact. Maybe as more grannies die from incompetence in routine surgeries, or because their non-English-speaking doctor or nurse administered the wrong medication, people will wake up. The uniparty will bank on the public accepting a certain amount of death and carnage, just as they accepted the murder of Ashling Murphy, Jamey Carney, and countless other victims of their open-border migration policies. They are banking on the Irish being too demoralised, distracted, or self-interested to do something - as usual.

🇮🇪 Ireland - 24th September 2026 Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan has admitted that his department keeps zero records of criminal convictions of foreign nationals after they have been granted Irish citizenship. Just eight foreign national had their citizenship revoked over the past decade, just two of which had been recorded since April 2025. Seven of those decisions were made on the grounds of fraud, misrepresentation or the concealment of material facts, the Fianna Fáil Minsiter revealed. He also admitted: “Similarly, my department does not maintain records categorised in the manner requested by the Deputy in relation to marriages or civil partnerships with Irish citizens, marriages of convenience, or cases where citizenship applicants were subsequently found to have provided false, misleading or fraudulent information in immigration, residence, international protection or citizenship processes.
