What is the point in paying for any platform right now? I wanted to use mentimeter for a lecture, it’s got limits of how many entries, so I got an llm to make what I needed in 2 mins.

What makes you stop and check what the song called playing from your Spotify? Is the next step save, add to playlist, look at the artist name, follow on socials? I think suspect some of my top super listeners don’t even know my artist name, maybe not even the song name

I’ve asked so many people over the last few months to share their favourite music moments and memories, and by far the vast majority are physical and irl. I think this speaks to how people form bonds with music they see as meaningful, at least the ones outside of a specific song our album that speaks to them as a piece of music… BUT I’m finding that people find these harder and harder to recall, they feel put on the spot, they know it’s there.. it’s just harder to grasp the name and the artist. It’s much easier to pull a physical memory out than one of sonic connection alone… it’s why I’m thinking more about physical space and how we design that to intentionally form bonds and more meaningful moments away from our screens. My optimistic view on London is most of the things you want in music and culture are here already. If it feels missing, it’s either not in your ends, not affordable to you or you don’t know it’s there. If what you want doesn’t exist you can be part of building it.

The House of Photography space is so perfect to run a mini version of the event, the Alone sessions that we run use visuals that are made from listeners memories that are all photos that were submitted as part of SCENES and made into custom artworks.. they work as prompts where without you expecting it one will just suddenly connect with you and take you back somewhere you didn’t expect. It’s really interesting the way it takes: physical life → digital photo → projections → onto physical space → then triggers new memories back in the room for people on the night. 8th October with FUJIFILM lates at House of Photography with @fujifilmuk We are going to have deep listing and live performances (Alone), conversation prompts using music as a way to close the space between us (Together), and we will be creating some live artefacts using instax cameras and printers to make a memory wall of our favourite music memories. Drinks, chat and nice vibes to escape the doomscroll Alone Together is a space for meaning making and moments that feel authentic, we use music and memories as a way to connect with each other, to reflect and connect with our selves. Filmed last year this little mini doc and interview was made when I was approached by some students from the film courses at University or Wesminster. I am always up for helping any young people make real things to put out in the world, so when they asked if there was something I needed doing I came up with an idea that I could actually use. A big thanks to the creative team behind this and the friends and listeners who contributed voice notes.. one of which because the sample that got the EP started. It’s funny how just doing and making can lead to new ideas, and saying yes to this and going out on socials to ask fans to contribute messages was what kickstarted the music for the Alone Together EP. Intelligent dance music is one of the most interesting sub genre categories to me. Someone had to invent a name for music that sounds like or is influenced by experimental electronic music, but it isn’t experimental any more… it’s just in the style of music that was experimental when it was first happening. It’s distinct from electronic music that is still genuinely experimental… if electronic music can still be genuinely experimental at this point. It’s a sub genre for people who are fans of what used to be experimental , so there for they are intelligent instead of trashy?

I don’t have time for computer games, I’m saving them for retirement to reunite with my mates via the chips in our brains
