There is no doubt that @ABDanielleSmith has done everything she can to delegitimize this process and skew the result.
SMITH knows that a victory for Alberta Independence is and end to her career and the “New World Order” that she has been promised a place in.
Don’t forget for a second that SMITH has allied herself with Nenshi, Gil McGowan, Lukaszuk and all of the Alberta Unions that are busily working to affect the outcome by working against the people who elected her.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer... but somebody has to call this spade- a spade.
We ban so many things on election day (and near polling stations)... and we all agree this is a solid principle of democracy... and it's enforced to the point of not allowing overt party-colours in polling stations.
We do this to give voters a VITAL period of reflection before they vote.
We have ~3 million people on the voter's list and 610,000 mail-in ballots, so far.
At least 20% of the eligible voters in this referendum will vote by mail. This could be a much higher percentage of voters that turnout (turnout won't be 100%). Might be 30-40% of all votes cast.
Now riddle me this,
Swaying people on election day is so heavily forbidden (under penalty of law), because a period of reflection is so important...
...and these mail-in voters are essentially having an "election day" at the mailbox while campaigns are fully in their face...
...then what the hell are we talking about, here?
For 20% of the population, no reflection was needed.
I get needing a mail-in ballot if you’re disabled or stuck in another country and can’t get to a polling station. 40% of the province is not in Afghanistan.

The reality is this isn’t even the real question. It’s a watered-down stand-in: vote now so we can maybe ask another question later- and even if this passes, the wording of that next question isn’t guaranteed. The mandate from this result is already piss-poor because it breaks the election-day rules everyone claims to agree on.
As-is, this seems to violate Clarity Act rules where the voters have been influenced due to being allowed to experience fresh campaign materials at the moment of voting. Any majority then, cannot be a clear majority: they were influenced.
Just what the hell are we doing, here?
This is expensive and the future of this province is at stake!

Canada ships about $400 billion a year to the United States. That sounds like a weapon until you put it against their economy. It is about 1.5 percent of U.S. GDP. One and a half fingers. They are a $32 trillion machine. China is a distant second. We are just over two.
A small country does not win a trade war with a large one. We do not have the cash or the cushion. Retaliation lands here first. Plants. Distilleries. The till. Not a podium in Washington.
The part Ottawa will not say is the part that should enrage you.
Trump did not invent the dependency. He did not ban pipelines for a decade. He did not write the $200 billion in interprovincial barriers. He did not decide we would sell almost everything south and then lecture the only customer. We did that. He found the cracks and pushed.
Carney ran as the adult who could close a deal. Seventeen months later the file is a slogan and a walk-away. Elbows up polls. Arithmetic does not.
Lee’s fix is not another speech in Europe. Kill the barriers between provinces. Move resources at volume. Stop pretending 1.5 percent of their GDP is a chokehold.
You cannot bring the largest economy on earth to its knees with a rounding error. You can only bring your own plants to a stop and call it principle.
