#rehomehour BDRUK are in need of a foster or adoption for partially sighted Brittany Spaniel RUBY TUESDAY. She was born in 2021, weighs 12.5kg & is originally from a rescue in Portgual. Ruby has been in #Sussex with her owners since 2022. She lost her sight recently & suddenly due to SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) - a medical condition that causes blindness in dogs when the retina stops processing light. She has become totally blind in her left eye & partially sighted in her right eye. The transient lifestyle of her owners means that Ruby struggles with orientation & is frequently startled by dogs & people & bumps into things. Hence Rescue are looking for a new home for Ruby, one that is well suited to her new needs. Can you provide a calm, confident, permanent or foster home who will be sensitive to the fact that Ruby is adjusting to her sight loss? She needs someone home mostly & for it to be a rural or quiet home away from hustle & bustle noises. A calm family dog would help her but not necessarily needed, she just needs time to adjust & initially it will be necessary to separate the dogs just while Ruby settles. Ruby's personality is amazing, she is a happy, confident, intelligent, well socialised, versatile dog. She has always been very well behaved & is very lovable. She is fully vaccinated & has a pet passport.
