🚨🚨HEART-BREAKING. 💔 A second shooting victim of the 2024 Butler assassination attempt against President Trump has sadly passed away.
This was an entirely preventable tragedy. RIP James "Jim" Copenhaver of Moon Township, Pa.
Copenhover was shot twice -- once in the left arm and once in the abdomen. His family and a third victim are currently suing the Secret Service over its ineptitude and failures at the rally.
JUST IN: I am sad to report that one of the shooting victims at the 2024 Butler Pennsylvania assassination attempt of President Trump has died.
James “Jim” Copenhaver of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, has died at 76. Jim was one of the two spectators seriously wounded in the July 13, 2024, assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler.
Copenhaver was shot twice, once in the left arm and once in the abdomen, while seated in the bleachers. He underwent multiple surgeries for a transected colon, abdominal injuries, and related complications. Bullet fragments remained in his body, and he lived the rest of his life with permanent injuries.
He survived the attack that killed firefighter Corey Comperatore and grazed Trump. In the years that followed he continued treatment, later joined a lawsuit alleging Secret Service failures at the rally, and wrote the foreword to a book about the shooting in which he reflected on how he would be remembered.
He is now the second fatality connected to that day.
Rest in peace Jim.🙏❤️

It reminds me of the Russian honeypot at the U.S. embassy in Moscow that @dbongino and current Secret Service Director Sean Curran tried to report when they were stationed there together. But, according to Bongino, instead of investigating it, Secret Service headquarters back in Washington told them to can it -- keep their mouths shut.
More than 14 years later, U.S. authorities found out the woman was a spy (surprise, surprise) and publicly outed her.
The Secret Service covered it up, according to my sources, allowing a senior Secret Service agent who allegedly failed an inquisition about his months-long sexual relationship with the spy to retire without any serious disciplinary actions or repercussions.
This latest news is another harsh indictment of the Biden-era Secret Service.
An American tech CEO allegedly helped Russian nationals hide their ownership of a digital forensics company so it could land lucrative US government contracts — including a deal with the Secret Service.
The Secret Service-operated institute ultimately awarded Oxygen a five-year contract for its Russian-developed software in September 2024

That was two months after the Butler assassination attempt on President Trump when the Secret Service was being run by then-Acting Director Ron Rowe.
Yes, Rowe was the guy who the Chertoff Group hired when he left the agency at the beginning of Trump's second term.
He's also the one who got into an angry, vein-bulging shouting match at a hearing with Rep. Pat Fallon over whether he tried to supplant an agent in a 9/11 photo shoot when his wife, another USSS employee, was serving as the staff photographer.

Amtrak so bad it’s causing flight delays now …
UPDATE: An Amtrak construction crew accidentally cut into a fiber line in New Jersey which caused a telecom outage and forced FAA to pause flights in the Northeast.
Right now:
- Flights are resuming at LGA and PHL
- Flights into EWR, JFK, and Teterboro Airport are paused
This incident underscores the need for additional funding to modernize aging infrastructure and prevent disruptions like this in the future.

Amtrak and NJ Transit stated the cable was cut by a NJ Transit contractor on their property, not an Amtrak crew. The outage started with failure of an aging primary circuit; the cut affected only the backup line.
