George Lucas says he retired from filmmaking with 3 more Star Wars films on his plate. “I’m 82, so there is a limit. When I did [the museum], I decided to retire from making movies, which was a big deal because I had 3 more Star Wars to make” (Source: youtu.be/ktH5dsr5v5k?is…)

I’d like to see the scripts. Or even the outline

Made huge £ but were largely diabolical films with some of the worst character lore in the movies. For all the criticism TPM gets its a far better film than any of the nonsense Disney put out. Better story, better characters. The whole Rey and Finn story started with promise but got tied up in poor acting and poor story. Consumer products forcing the narrative that a female hero sells product, which it didnt and doesnt to the extent that there is nonexistent interest now in any of those movies. Andor allowed a connection to a indepth story that people wanted to see, with good acting, good story and a connection to the original movies. Whatever Lucas faults he knew his story and audience and didnt have the need to sit round a table with feedback of focus groups

I don’t want to see the scripts. I want George to work with Dave Filoni and integrate his three films. If he needs to change the current canon, so be it. By the way, George still looks great at 82. 💫🙏

I gotta admit the prequel trilogy is aging better than all of Disney's Star Wars content. Maybe if everyone hadn't made fun of the prequels and Jar Jar so much this might not have happened.

Nothing is stopping him from making those films as a producer.

Iger convinced George to retire & sell Star Wars. Plus it helped with decision to have another child. This then gave him the freedom to do his museum. Interesting thing is, he had the idea to have a museum in the Bay area, prior to sale. The three SW movies are Disney's, they own them. So he would never be able to do them.

He’s referring to the sequels…Disney destroyed his legacy with those terrible films

Creating a grand museum was a better decision than returning to the franchise he had created, where the fanbase was very outraged with him.

To be honest, I don’t think the Sequel Trilogy would have been any better if George had decided to make them. He probably would’ve gotten the same reaction that the Prequels did.

Dude should make rough versions of them using animation and such, and just show them in the museum. Would fit the theme for his museum being meant for artists and such.

"I was totally going to make those movies even though I hate directing movies, for this fanbase that hated me and I hated them too at that point and they would have been the best movies ever" C'mon dude be for real

yeah, you should look up what those three Star Wars films were about. It was fantastic voyage to the Midichlorians, there's one person on earth that thought that was a good idea

When he left, he said a trilogy takes 10 years to make and he’d rather that time spent with family. Little did he know you could churn one out in just four if you don’t care enough

Would like to think that someday those 3 films can be made with his guidance. Not possible, i know. But it’s a nice thought.

George would’ve permanently ruined his legacy if he had a chance to make a trilogy about the midichlorians and the Force. That would’ve bombed harder than The Marvels.

It boggles my mind that @Disney pushed aside the Creator of Star Wars George Lucas and handed it to people that have no idea what they were doing.

Steven Spielberg should have directed 1, 2 and 3 but it would have taken some concerted effort. (Spielberg did end up unofficially helping his friend by "ghost-directing" a few pre-visualization sequences for the intense Order 66 montage in 2005's Revenge of the Sith.)

People need to remember there was only 1 script, the lead was a girl only slightly older than Anakin in ep1, the broad strokes of TLJ came from his notes and plans such as hermit Luke being cut off from the force. Basically all the stuff fans were most vocal against.

At the time that wouldn't have been a selling point because he was only like 67 when he sold it.

There's not a Star Wars fan who wouldn't pay to see Flar Stores episodes VII, VIII, and IX done by any production company of Lucas' choosing.
