This is how Samsung tests its Folding Phones for durability and reliability. APPLE, DID YOU DO THE SAME FOR THE iPhone Duo?

Highly unlikely... They didn't even test their own software to make sure it was optimized for the screen size... 🤣

That’s cheating! They perform abdominal exercises to build strength before entering the public arena!

The shameless Apple CEO was busy mocking Android foldables on stage.

To be completely fair, the Note 7 battery disaster is why they have far better QC today. Perhaps Apple needs a similar lesson. I've always thought their image of somehow being more premium than other brands is fluff and has been since around 2010.

It is fascinating to watch these factories at work. Thinking about all the man hours that went into the research to create these machines that are nanometer accurate.

Of course they did. If you purposely try to break something you will break it. They're freaking Samsung screens FFS.

Joanna Stern's machine already did 32k folds on one and the hinge was fine. But a machine folding a phone isn't the same as a pocket full of keys and grit. The first few months of real-world use will tell us more than any video.

You can test is to death, but suppliers and Foxconn can screw everything up.

Ah yes the cleanest calculated path of opening and closing with no stress to the materials. Exactly how people would open and close it. 😅

These people could test any phone good lol. With the shenanigans they get up to if it lasts then its ready for mass production.

The problem is when one uses the finger by the hinge. They should’ve added thumbs to the machines. 😂

Doesn't matter if they do or not. My Fold 6 also broke in the middle.

I suspect the iPhone Duo wasn’t subjected to rigorous testing; it seems Apple no longer maintains the same exacting standards for its products that existed under Steve Jobs’s leadership. What do you think?

The iPhone hinge is better it has flex mode the Fold 8 can't do this.

Samsung engineering at its finest. Apple engineers are so lazy, they only focus on animation

The iPhone duo uses the same display technology because the displays come straight from Samsung. They could've cheaped out tho 🤷

One search regarding hinge failure in Samsung members group will give the reliability of Samsung foldables , right now be it any company no foldable is durable atleast for 4 years , personally lost fold 4 and flip 4 myself within 2 years , my friend flip 6 and moto razr 🪦

Apple clearly didnt test the pressure points on the screen when people have hands to fold it not a macine

I mean they probably did to an extent, but Apple seem to have some "new product" crisis where they hype-chase and drop it after 1/2 years.

Fair question. But a week of viral clips isn't a durability test either

Seems all this is a Samsung inside job. Samsung makes the foldable inner and cover OLED screens for the iPhone Duo. Built to Apple's specs?? Good way to drown the competition.
