I don’t understand why people are obsessed with paying off their mortgage, especially if borrowing cost is sub 5%

💯 People prefer to have “peace of mind” by being poorer 🤷‍♂️

I'm thinking that too. My 2.25% rate is just too good.

yeah, right Before the reset or great default happens, have fun with the mortgage payment...unless ofc you want to try to miss a payment or two, lol. FAFO I guess. enjoy the debt whilst we, on the debt-free side, SWAN hard asset stack is already pre-positioned

Every Dave post comes down to this.

Dave Ramsey in a nutshell: he gives good advice for people that are bad with money, and gives bad advice for people that are good with money.

Being self employed with a family to feed means mortgage free is the one thing not to scoff at.

Isn’t that the guy that made hundreds of thousands of dollars from blockfi sponsorships?

It is basic math. Invest over Mortgage Pay-off so long as you invest at a rate significantly higher than your mortgage rate. This is not complicated.

i will never pay off my debts, i’ll just claim bankruptcy like the pedophilic president has taught us. (facetiously hyperbolic)

If you can't handle managing a mortgage on your house because it's too 'stressful' then you are really going to struggle in life.

There is something to say about not having debt hang over you. But in the situation of a house if I have the ability to put that capital into something else that can beat that 2.75% interest I will. I might take some of my stack and pay off the home in the future but not now.

No. You should have discussions with @ts_hodl and @CJKonstantinos on this.
