Yesterday's two letters from @jamie_raskin, one to the FBI and DOJ, and the other to the Board of @BardCollege, describe in detail alleged sex trafficking for Jeffrey Epstein as well as sexual abuse of students, including by faculty still on campus. theguardian.com/us-news/2026…

I gifted this article about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent which details his bullying, his erratic behavior, and temper. He has lost an unusually high number of treasury employees in his first 20 months, including many he brought in that were Senate confirmed. He has already churned through three chiefs of staff. His staff is so afraid of his volatile behavior that they try to gage his mood before showing up to meetings, and celebrate when he is out of the office. This is a long read, but you also have the option to listen to it. wsj.com/politics/policy/bess…

NEW: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently said in an interview that he believes in the idea of "fired if fired upon" in how to respond to people. Inside Treasury, his management of the agency has featured him, at times, ripping into agency staff and battling with officials leading to multiple departures. Some of his defenders, including former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, admit Bessent has a temper, is intense, passionate and demanding but that's all by design to keep Treasury staff in check with the president's agenda. "He brings a Wall Street mentality to Washington," another said. Our deep dive on what's been happening in an agency that's seen high turnover with alumni of Bessent's hedge fund coming in to help him. The AI boom is now reaching into retirement portfolios. SpaceX is raising $40B to buy Nvidia chips. But it’s not through equity. Apollo is packaging $30B of bonds & $10B of bank loans to sell to investors. The bonds get an investment-grade stamp, so pension & insurance funds can buy them. SpaceX's existing bonds already trade at 85 cents on the dollar. That's how AI risk quietly ends up in retirement portfolios.

THE CIA'S SECOND-IN-COMMAND JUST FIRED THE AGENCY'S LAWYER AND HIRED HIMSELF Michael Ellis. Deputy Director of the CIA. This week he walked into the general counsel's office, removed the person whose entire job is to tell the CIA when it's breaking the law, and installed himself in the seat Read that again. The man running covert operations is now also the man who approves whether those covert operations are legal. No separation. No independent check. Just Ellis, grading his own homework, in the most secretive agency in the federal government There is no oversight body watching this happen in real time. No confirmation hearing. No public vote. One trusted Trump loyalist just erased the one internal brake that existed inside the CIA's legal chain This is the same Michael Ellis who Trump tried to install as NSA general counsel back in 2020 and got blocked for being too political to trust with classified legal judgment Didn't matter. Trump brought him back anyway. Promoted him anyway. And now he's unsupervised, sitting on both sides of the legal review process for one of the most powerful intelligence agencies on planet earth Compare that to a career CIA analyst who needs three signatures and a security review just to expense a cab ride Ellis needed zero signatures to seize legal authority over his own conduct This isn't a personnel shuffle. This is Donald Trump's pattern, repeating inside the one agency where nobody is supposed to see it happen Schedule F for the civil service. Loyalty tests for prosecutors. Acting officials who answer only to Trump. And now the CIA's own watchdog function, swallowed whole by the guy it was supposed to watch When the people checking the power and the people holding the power are the same person, that's not an intelligence agency anymore That's a black box with Donald Trump's name on the door And nobody elected Michael Ellis to anything

Elon Musk is back in Washington, and this time he's headed to the Pentagon. Musk will help lead "Project Meridian," a study meant to shape "the future of U.S. military warfare" by identifying which weapons the Pentagon should mass-produce. Instead of tapping generals, Hegseth handed the role to Musk, a defense contractor who stands to profit from the very recommendations he'll make. Our military's future should be determined by its own leaders, not a crazed businessman. cnbc.com/2026/09/30/musk-luc…

Paul Allen said Bill Gates tried to cut his Microsoft stake to almost nothing while he was fighting cancer. Allen kept the shares. They later made him worth $40 billion. In the video below, Allen explains what he heard while walking past Gates’s office during radiation therapy. “They were basically talking about how they were planning to dilute my share down to almost nothing.” Steve Ballmer was in the room. Allen walked in and confronted them. Ballmer came to his house later that night to apologize. Gates did not. Allen left Microsoft shortly after, but he kept all of his shares. He was 30, cancer-free, and still owned nearly a third of the company. When Microsoft went public, that stake made him one of the richest people on Earth. At one point, Allen was worth an estimated $40 billion. Could you ever trust your co-founder again after hearing that conversation?

Collins: I was successful at getting road salt removed from the tariff list. Jackson: What about everything else? We can’t eat road salt. With everything she’s doing with the Iran war, there will be so many less people that can afford to drive that I’m not even sure the road salt will be worth anything.

EFTA00151234 mentions SOME coconspirators, not A coconspirator. Why did @FBIDirectorKash say there’s no evidence of coconspirators? It also has a redaction [subpoenaed] that conceals the existence of other Epstein files which haven’t been released. Where are those subpoenas?
