Ruth’s Gleaning Cake
Yield: one household, with some left over.
Ingredients
1 full measure of loyalty
1 cup of humility, sifted fine
2 handfuls of industry
½ cup of counsel received without argument
3 spoons of kindness
1 cup of courage
2 cups of patience
1 cup of fine gratitude
1 cup of trust
Several large heaping tablespoons of restraint
Method
Heat the house, not the oven.
Loyalty goes in first. If it is missing, nothing else will bind.
Sift humility into industry so the work does not rise into pride. Mix only until the two are no longer separate.
Fold in counsel.
Do not overbeat.
Stir in kindness through the batter last.
Pour into an ordinary pan of your heart.
Do not grease it with self-interest.
Bake through the whole harvest, not the first afternoon.
The cake is done when it can be carried home and still feed another person.
Brush the top with whatever leftover mercy you were given.
Do not ice it.
To serve
Slice it for the bitter one first (Naomi called herself Mara).
Keep a portion for the household. If there is still some left, that is the point.
It keeps.
Quiet faithfulness does not stale as fast as a loud cake.

Yeah something isn’t right with the intentional media push on all these cases.
And it’s all the people I trust the least that immediately start covering these cases with the same talking points. The “I don’t see a genocide or the intentional bombing and starving of hundreds of thousands of Children with my tax dollars” crowd that loves to magnify one-off cases because they are “pro-life” and concerned about social media.
There is no doubt they are going to start pushing for speech laws and regulations and it’s because the state is no longer able to control narratives by purchasing influencers and bots.
