An American fantasy/horror writer in Germany. I talk about metals, energy, current events but am not an expert. The only advice I'll ever offer is on writing.

Wow, I hadn't looked at the 30Y. It's at 24 years highs. Unbelievable.
Yield curve literally spelling out the idiocy on display at the fed Hike (near term rates up) Then it causes recession (middle of curve rates down) Then ease massively and hyper inflate (long end rates up)

The US10Y rose as much as it could reasonably be expected to yesterday. It has been in this channel since February.

#Silver is barely hanging on to various resistances, but it's spent 10 months above $50 now. Doubly impressive when you consider what it might have done had the gulf not spiked oil prices. We shall see how long it holds.

US10Y rates are now up 1% on the year, reaching a 19 year high. In another .1% they will hit a 24 year high.

Well, if that was the bottom in oil, then this is increasingly looking like a series of higher lows. Hard to believe it will fall below this if the Houthis really hit Yanbu again.

Lots of DXY weakness talk lately, and it's true, but how exactly is the Euro supposed to hold up this winter in the midst of an energy crisis, whether diesel exports bans happen or not? Another wave of inflation is on the way.

Day 3 of the giant listing premium mystery. Someone has paid a vast premium to pick up 7m shares of SSLZY in the last 3 trading days. Do you suppose they've gotten the exchange math wrong? STO is A$8.53, and SSLZY is $8.08. Maybe they're arbing a gap that doesn't exist.

While this is partially an artifact of JKM not yet printing a new price, the TTF/JKM ratio shift from 1.14 to .9 is a huge pivot not seen since March. Does someone know something, or is this just another fake out?

Depite TTF's recent price collapse. EU gas imports are right in line YoY, and back on their less than urgent uptrend. Germany continues to lag, though, at -19.6% YoY. The continent has just enough gas to get through an avg winter, IF they keep imports the same for the duration.

The power of this unexpected down move is crazy as shortage pictures continue to proliferate and tank bottom stories become more high profile. We may yet retest the 50DMA at pace. RSI is neutral across the board (50-60). Feels like something is breaking.

Uncanny. How did I never see that before.
Whenever I see a photo of Sam Altman in a suit I do a doubletake because I think I'm looking at Paul Reiser's character from Aliens.

Watching each of these new AI models supplant the previous gold standard every few weeks helps me understand the various typewriter/typesetting wars of the 19th century more than ever. The largest cash bonfire in the history of humanity, all in a quest to own the standard.

I couldn't figure out what caused this, but when Santos became my 2nd largest position because of the spike, I sold 1/2 near the highs, locking in 80% gains. If it renormalizes back to $6.40, I'll buy back; if it blows up because of an acquisition, I still have skin in the game.
Anyone know what's going on with Santos? It's OTC and AX tickers have entirely seperated for the first time in a decade that I can see, on near record volume. Someone is buying a lot of Australlian gas exposure.

I watched the $PXEN call today. It was fine. No new information really. Just clarifications of existing plans. Certainly nothing that justifies this month's volume surge. Only 10x normal volume today; I suppose we will all have to live in mystery a while longer.

A big reason I think silver will still spike down to $50ish on the market crash/oil spike is the previous peaks. All 3 silver bear markets can be represented by falling wedges of similar shape and diminishing size. Notice, though, that the ultimate bottom was near their point.

As cheap as $AA is starting to look, given alluminum's fundamentals, it still looks like it's got a ways to fall to me. Tempting, though...
