I’m continuing my research into using Blender as a previz tool together with AI, and here’s a really cool tool you might want to try.
I bought an app called VirtuCamera 2. Check them out at
@virtucamera.
Just to be clear, I have absolutely no connection with them. This isn’t sponsored or paid promotion. I just like sharing tools and ideas that might help you make your films.
And this one is pretty cool.
Once you have your set built in Blender, you can connect your iPhone and use it as a virtual handheld camera inside the 3D scene.
Move the phone, walk around, frame the shot, record the camera movement, then use that animation however you want.
For my test, I:
• built the scene in Blender
• recorded the camera movement with my iPhone
• created a photorealistic first frame
• used the Blender camera animation + 3d blocking video as references.
• prompted the complete shot
The result was this natural handheld cinematic shot, recorded while I was literally moving around my living room. 😄I took a few creative liberties with the prompt, so there are some small visual changes, but the camera movement is spot on!
And if you have enough space, technically you could even walk around the 3d street, while operating your virtual camera.
Blender previz → real camera movement → AI video.
This hybrid workflow is getting more and more interesting.
