After 18 months of demonstrations—across five data centers all over the world—we've entered our commercial scaling phase and are now deployed at multi-MW, full data center scale with customers spanning the world's biggest AI pioneers, global data center platforms, and leading power utilities. We're proud to collaborate with @NVIDIA, @Digitalrealty, @EPRINews, and others to launch the world's first power-flexible AI Factory—roughly 100MW in Manassas, Virginia—later this year, creating the blueprint for a new generation of flexible DSX AI infrastructure that will be good citizens to power grids and local communities. We're also honored to partner with @SantaClaraPower on the nation's first Flexible Load Interconnection Program (FLIP) to provide additional power capacity to flexible AI data centers. 🤝We are so grateful to our incredible consortium of investors, co-led by @EnergizeCapital and @DCVC, as well as to the extraordinary syndicate of leading global financial and strategic investors. Emerald now counts 12 Fortune 500 Global companies as our investors. Many thanks to Series A investors including @NVIDIA, @SamsungVentures, @aramcoventures, @Siemens, @SalesforceVC, @GEVernova, @RWE_AG, @jeraventures, @ADI_News Ventures, @SabanciHolding, In-Q-Tel, @radicalvcfund, @EnergyImpact_, @lowercarbon, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, @EmCollective, @johndoerr, The Olayan Group, The Temerty Group, @EarthshotVC, @collectiveGBL, General Catalyst's scout fund, and others. 🚀This funding will be instrumental as we rapidly scale commercially across the United States and around the world. Our vision is simple: secure larger and faster power connections for AI while making sure AI gives back to the communities that host it. At Emerald AI, we believe that the biggest new user of electricity—AI data centers—can also be the grid's greatest ally, and a boon for local communities by protecting energy affordability and reliability. Thank you to all of our customers, partners, investors, and our incredible team (grateful to the leadership team pictured below Ayse Coskun Mansi Shah Aroon Vijaykar Shayan Sengupta as well as to the whole fantastic team)—this has already been the journey of a lifetime, and we're just getting started

Can superintelligent agents (1) be conscious, and (2) should humans give them rights/prioritize their moral welfare? @mustafasuleyman's extremely lucid article argues (1) no and (2) no. But he mostly focuses on (2). On (1) he hand-waves away functionalism mustafa-suleyman.ai/a-warnin…

I will be very sad if this is AI generated. Perfect presentation
>be me >discover effective altruism >apparently normal charity is inefficient >why donate to random sad thing when spreadsheet can tell you optimal sad thing >fair enough >buy mosquito nets >save 46-page report >contains seventeen sensitivity analyses >every sensitivity analysis begins after assuming intervention has positive sign >critic says you're multiplying enormous hypothetical stakes by extremely uncertain probabilities >yes >that's literally why it's important >critic says the uncertainty might be structural rather than numerical >make probability smaller >critic says no, I mean Grateful to partner with @nvidia to found this landmark coalition!
NEWS: NVIDIA, @EmeraldAi_, and @Google launched the AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) to accelerate the interconnection of flexible, grid-enhancing data centers, strengthen reliability, and protect affordability. By shifting computing workloads, using stored energy or temporarily reducing demand when the grid is strained, flexible data centers can help unlock faster, larger connections for AI infrastructure while supporting the energy systems and communities that make its growth possible.

Today, @Google @NVIDIA @EmeraldAI_ are launching the AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA), joined by @AnthropicAI, @TheAESCorp, @ConstellationEG, @GenerateCapital, @NationalGrid, @NRGenergy, and a dozen other industry partners. Our shared mission: modernize power system planning and operations for the 21st century to unlock the full potential of flexible data centers, enabling digital infrastructure to actively enhance system utilization, affordability, and reliability. Instead of waiting 5-7+ years for traditional system upgrades, multiple studies have found that reducing net grid withdrawal for less than 100 hours per year can unlock dozens of gigawatts of capacity, via compute flexibility, storage, or generation. At Google, we’ve proven this model by integrating 1 gigawatt of demand response capacity nationwide. To advance this mission, two new Google-commissioned reports are being released today that map actionable pathways forward: 1) @TheBrattleGroup: "Solutions for Timely Interconnection of Large Loads: Enabling Non-Firm Transmission Service," providing a technical blueprint to turn recent bipartisan direction from @FERC into operational reality. 2) @AuroraER_Oxford: "Curtailment Mitigation for Provisional Controllable Load Resources: Modeling the Effects of Front-of-Meter Netting," modeling flexible data centers in @ERCOT_ISO paired with front-of-meter resources. With thanks to AEMA's additional launch partners, @ADI_News, @CalibrantEnergy, @CamusEnergy, @ClearPathFound, @fluenceenergy, @GridUnity, PassKey, RWE, Splight, @verrusdata, and @voltusinc.

In his game with Deep Blue, Kasparov was so unsettled that at some point he claimed there must be some human assistance. It is hard to see machines surpass us at what we've spent our life mastering. But like in chess, soon the idea that a model benefitted from human assistance to prove a theorem will make no sense.

We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

Can AI datacenters be good grid citizens? At @heronpower our view is unequivocally yes. Earlier this week in @UtilityDive I alongside Vladimir Troy (NVIDIA), Michael Polsky (Invenergy) and @vsiv (Emerald AI) detailed how. Together we represent key layers of the power stack: data center power architecture, accelerated compute, electricity generation and transmission, and orchestration software. Appropriately designed and sited, data centers can be grid-supportive and flexible new load (and new generation) that increase network utilization, improve grid resilience and drive down electric rates. Heron's technology supports this vision and we will continue to partner across the power stack to make it a reality.
3 principles to make AI data centers good grid citizens Developed intentionally, AI data centers can help create a more resilient and affordable electric system, write officials from Heron Power, NVIDIA, Invenergy and Emerald AI. utilitydive.com/news/3-princ…

Utilities should love flexible AI data centers: important points from @tylerhnorris, @SlBrandin, @jchrisshelton: better utilizing power system increases potential investment in infrastructure and utility returns, while keeping rates affordable. Plus, utilities don't get disintermediated by data centers going off grid because they can't connect in a timely manner
Replying to @SlBrandin
Now that the benefits of greater asset utilization via high-load-factor large customers are becoming more apparent, I'm hopeful more utilities will realize it can enable them to secure even more capex for system investment.
