Wright is interesting cause he’s having Hazard over Neymar but flat out said no to Salah. Keane started bringing likeability into it, which is ironic. Rooney surprised me. Jill Scott… Anyway. Simply put, Neymar didn’t play in the Prem. If he did and his career went exactly the same, these convos wouldn’t happen.

That’s right. Start with sadness for the King. The real victim here.
'My main emotion is sadness, really, for the King and the royal family and the victims of Jeffrey Epstein.' Robert Jenrick tells @TrevorPTweets that Reform would support the removal of Andrew from the line of succession. Andrew denies any wrongdoing. trib.al/F1G7K1u

This era is an absolute blur, doing mascot walks with an IPad ffs.
It’s December 2020 and ahead of Everton’s League Cup quarter-final against Manchester United at Goodison Park, Dominic Calvert-Lewin leads out 80-year-old Evertonian Billy Culshaw as a virtual mascot as part of an initiative to tackle loneliness 🔵⚽️

I’m so happy to see Mbappe saying these things and taking such a hard stance. And refusing to play the media game of absolving the racist and putting the blame on the reaction.
Mbappe saying all the right things in the mixed zone. "I asked Vini what he wanted to do. Whatever he wants to do, we'll do it as a team. We'll never leave Vini alone. We've supported our player. If something like that happens to you, how would you feel? "Did Prestianni apologize? Did you see his face? An apology? We're not stupid, there are things that... I'm not saying I'm perfect, but I don't let that kind of thing slide. This player is young, how can you say these things on a football pitch? Now we have to see what happens. We were leaving, it was the team's decision, I don't know what happened, and then we came back. We focused on what we're doing, but today the important thing isn't the match, there's something more important than the match." "We have to set an example for all the children who look up to us; there are things we can't accept. We shouldn't generalize. I have Portuguese friends, they treat me very well, but when someone behaves like that, it has to be said. People don't know what happened, and that's why they booed us. I have nothing against Benfica, the club, or its coach, who for me is one of the best, and the club is the best in Portugal and one of the best in history. But this kid doesn't deserve to play in the Champions League anymore. We'll see what happens; let's leave it to UEFA, who always try to do something. Now they have a serious case, and I hope they do something."

🚨 Thierry Henry: “I don’t care (if Vini Jr.’s celebration was provocative). I want to know what Prestianni said. I REFUSE to discuss the celebration. I don’t even want to discuss it. Prestianni, WHAT DID YOU SAY? This is all we want to know.” @CBSSports

We have been concerned about pricing for participating nations for months now and have been raising these concerns with Football Supporters Europe and our FA. The early trends were worrying and it is devastating to see those concerns turn reality with the release of England’s prices for the World Cup. ESTC members have followed England loyally throughout this campaign, from Barcelona to Belgrade, Riga to Tirana, multiple midweek trips to Wembley, as well as the caps built from the Euro 2024 campaign, all to back the team to make the World Cup. These prices are a slap in the face to supporters who support their team outside of the flagship tournament that appears every four years. To call the Category 3 tickets, the cheapest available to ESTC members, “Supporter Value Category 3” that comes at a cost of $7020 if you want to follow England from start to finish, is laughable. A game for supporters, loyalty has been thrown out of the window and supporters of the participating nations have been completely let down.

interesting that Donovan says that FIFA are a "for profit business" here. FIFA are actually meant to be a nonprofit organisation, but who can blame anybody for not realising this
A Mexican-American USMNT fan named Edgar reached out to Tim Howard and Landon Donovan’s Unfiltered Soccer podcast. He’s from Houston and attended the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but feels priced out for the 2026 World Cup. He asked how the USMNT legends feel about the prices. “Edgar, I’m not an economics professor. But I’m gonna walk you through economics,” Donovan replied. “This is as simple as supply and demand. In Qatar, there were not hundreds and hundreds and hundreds or millions of people coming into Qatar to watch the World Cup.” “So initially the tickets were probably more expensive but then when you get down to the game, half the country left after the group stage so for the Round of 16 game vs Netherlands, you can get a ticket for 100 bucks.” “Right now, FIFA is floating a little trial ballon to see how many people will pay big money for these tickets.” “Interestingly, the first U.S. game is not selling well. The second game in Seattle and the third game in LA have sold really well.” “So what’s going to happen over time, it’s like when you go looking for a house in a new neighborhood and somebody says, ‘This house is on the market for 700 grand,’ and nobody bites. The next thing you know, it’s going to be 650 grand, and it’s 600 grand. And the market will dictate.” “It sucks. None of us likes it. FIFA has plenty of money, they don’t need to do it but they’re a business. They’re a for-profit business, they’re not a charity. They’re not here to give away tickets.” “I don’t like it as a fan, but it’s just reality.” Edgar wrote in his question that he paid just $96 to attend the USMNT vs the Netherlands game in the 2022 World Cup. He tried to buy a ticket for the June 23rd group stage game in Houston, he selected the $60 price band, and his total came out to $410 for one ticket with a $50 fee on top of that. 😳

So FIFA are going to charge a ‘refund fee’ for any refunds given for knockout games that England don’t get to in the World Cup. Even by FIFA’s standards this is absolutely incredible. 😁🤣

Kante analogy spot on and extremely overt. Don Hutchinson on Saka in 2022: “You’d never see him with a yellow tinge in his hair or earrings dangling. He’s just a humble guy who speaks very well” being black is fine as long as you’re not a big personality.
“I don’t think they are ready for a black superstar!” 🗣️ A powerful response from @IanWright0 following Jude Bellingham’s recent criticism in the media. Watch the full conversation now on The Overlap YouTube channel.
