Today, Rep. Delia Ramirez introduced the Reimagining Safety Act to dismantle DHS, ICE, and CBP. She wants to take the $150 billion from DHS and create a Dept. of Public Safety and fund social programs.
Ramirez’s bill would open our borders.

I've filed an official ethics complaint with Chicago Public Schools regarding Board Member Michilla Blaise's campaign advertisement, which appears to have been filmed on school property and featured CPS students.
NEW: Chicago Public Schools Board Member Michilla Blaise appears to have improperly used school property and footage of CPS students in a paid advertisement.
Blaise was originally appointed to the board by Brandon Johnson and is campaigning to win a seat at the Nov. 3 school board election. She is backed by the Chicago Teachers Union.
On Aug. 24, her campaign page launched paid promotion of a video Blaise recorded at a back to school event held inside Roswell B. Mason Elementary School.
The CPS Code of Ethics states that "[n]o Official or Employee shall perform any Political Activity while conducting Board business or during Board compensated time or use any Board property or Board resources for any Political Activity."
There is also a question of whether this advertisement complied with CPS policy governing the filming of students. Consent documentation for many of these students may not yet have been collected for the current year, given the footage was filmed on the first day of school.
I’ve blurred the faces of students in Blaise’s ad to protect their privacy.
The ad appears to have been taken down.
