BUILDING KATSINA BEYOND 2027 : FROM DEVELOPMENT FINANCE TO PRIVATE CAPITAL At the ASIS Global Action Forum on the sidelines of UNGA 81 in New York, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda presented Katsina’s approach to development financing and called for greater private-sector participation in public projects. Drawing on Katsina’s experience with 11 World Bank-supported projects with a reported combined portfolio of about $430 million, alongside $30 million in African Development Bank financing for the Agro-Industrial Processing Zone and $60 million from the Islamic Development Bank for the first phase of Integrated Agricultural Development Hubs, the Governor argued that access to development finance alone is not enough. His central message was that governments need to make public projects more attractive to responsible private capital through credible PPP frameworks, de-risking mechanisms, reliable counterpart funding, transparent procurement and independent monitoring. > “The sources have multiplied. What has not multiplied is private capital sitting inside public projects.” For Katsina, the sectors presented as opportunities include agricultural aggregation, storage, processing, logistics, mechanisation, off-take and working capital. Governor Radda encouraged investors to participate from the project-design stage so that commercial risks and development objectives can be addressed before implementation. His message to investors was equally specific: government should provide policy stability, respect for contracts, transparent procurement and security for people and assets, while private capital participates in commercially viable development projects. The UNGA 81 engagement therefore places a clear proposition before prospective partners: move from conversations about financing to properly structured projects capable of attracting investment and delivering measurable development outcomes. #BuildingKatsinaBeyond2027 #UNGA81 #InvestInKatsina

BREAKING: Last night, bandits stormed Dantutture in Kafur LGA, Katsina State, killing Alhaji Sa’adu Dantutture and abducting two people. Troops of 17 Brigade, alongside local vigilantes, responded quickly and engaged the attackers. Three bandits were reportedly killed, while another fled and abandoned his weapon. The quick response from the troops and vigilantes deserves commendation. May Allah forgive Alhaji Sa’adu Dantutture and grant his family strength. NB: Below is one of the militants neutralized
