Prince’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” is the greatest guitar solo of all time. Not “one of” — it is THE greatest. Some called it “Disrespectful showboating” because of the talent onstage, but this was the Rock Hall of Fame. And on a stage full of legends, Prince made everyone else look like amateurs. At 3:30, Prince steps up and ends the discussion.

Whenever I am asked for the top guitarists of all time; In addition to Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, I always include Prince.

That’s a great 4. Hendrix played it in a way I’ve never quite seen since. It’s like his guitar was on drugs. Dude was a savant.
