What a lot of people don't get. If Israel were a Christian country, October 7th still would have happened. Islam hates all people who do not follow the prophet Mohammed.

My old riding. If this happened in my time, Whitby voters would’ve shown my party the door Incredibly, I bumped into a couple of Whitby Conservatives who thought Carney was doing a good job. I pointed them to this project They were gobsmacked Please - Smarten Up Canada
Look at this. A country in the middle of a housing crisis. We’re told we desperately need more homes. More supply. More construction. Yet this is what we’re starting to see around the Toronto area. Development sites fenced off. Equipment sitting idle. Construction workers gone. Projects that were supposed to become homes simply sitting there. Think about that contradiction. We have people who can’t afford homes. We have young Canadians wondering if they’ll ever own one. We have governments telling us that increasing housing supply is one of the biggest priorities in the country. Yet the economics of actually building that housing are breaking down. When buyers disappear, financing gets harder, projects stop making financial sense and construction slows, the damage doesn’t stay inside the real estate market. Construction means jobs. Development means investment. New housing creates economic activity across trades, manufacturing, transportation, finance and thousands of other businesses. So when you see a site like this sitting behind a fence, don’t just look at it as another stalled development. Look at it as a warning. Something is seriously wrong when a country can simultaneously have a housing shortage and struggle to get housing built. For years, governments in Ottawa and across this country have talked about solving the housing crisis. Maybe it’s time we stop listening to the announcements and start looking at what’s actually happening on the ground. Because fences around unfinished developments tell you more about the state of this economy than another press conference ever will.

Oh wow, thank you! All my worries have gone away. Praise Carney, supreme leader of Canada. He’s done so well for us!! Oh wait… I actually don’t know anyone who qualifies. 🤷‍♀️ P.s a government needing to give people a GROCERIES AND ESSENTIALS benefit to temporarily appease them, is a government that has failed the people.

Resource-rich or resource-poor, it doesn't matter. If your country is run by socialists, it will be run into the ground, and no amount of oil, gold, or diamonds will save you.

I understand the desire to get more “free” things/services, but who do you expect to pay for them? I think we need to end free things for people who have not contributed.

At the very moment Carney Liberals failed to save Stelco jobs, they allow Beijing to dump steel into one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Canada. Carney is choosing China over our workers. The fact that the steel needed is not made in Canada is another failure of the Carney Liberals to create the environment for steelmaking here at home. We must build big with Canadian steel by ending the industrial carbon tax, and tackling steel dumping from trade abusers.
LNG Canada to use Chinese steel on $33-billion expansion project in Kitimat, B.C. China Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. made LNG Canada's first 2 processing units now in operation, @janycemcgregor reports cbc.ca/news/politics/lng-exp… Find out more at nationalnewswatch.com

“If we do not increase immigration our standard of living will suffer in measurable ways.” An entire generation has been priced out of the housing market, with all that means to family formation and birth rates, because immigration was too high, not because it was too low.

I've tried to steel-man this argument, and I just can't, so I'm asking for help. Why does Canada need more immigrants to stave off economic stagnation or decline? I mean, I get that it benefits business owners who want to depress wages, or people who invest in asset management companies or real estate and are happy to pull up the ladder behind them and screw over younger generations. Is that the whole of it? What am I missing? Credible explanations must account for the fact that most immigrants now entering the country will never make a net fiscal contribution. This was evident even 20 years ago, when we took in far fewer immigrants, when a higher proportion of them were classified as 'skilled,' and when the 'skilled' stream still meant something. Explanations must also account for the ways that mass migration exacerbates collapsing birth rates, rather than compensating for them.
This might be good politics, but it is bad economics. If we do not increase immigration our standard of living will suffer in measurable ways. I am afraid people don't understand that. Too much was bad. Too little is bad.

What a beautiful message. Thank you. Citizens just want to be heard. If more elected officials spoke to citizens rather than at them, we could begin rebuilding public trust. That starts with listening, answering legitimate questions and showing people that their concerns matter. It is their job to listen, not simply tell us what is right, safe or best for us. They can get it wrong, too. Expecting citizens to accept their judgment without question encourages dependence rather than independent thought. None of this is complicated, nor should listening to different points of view be controversial. Yet somehow, we are having to revisit kindergarten lessons with adults, particularly those in positions of power and influence. Disagreement is not a reason to dismiss someone, and holding office does not mean you have all the answers.
Back home and back in the tractor. A few thoughts after the first week back in Ottawa.

⚠️ I have serious concerns about the direction of Canada’s immigration policy. Mark Carney is advocating for increased immigration at a time when the CBSA has acknowledged that asylum seekers are being admitted with essentially no meaningful upfront security screening. This is particularly troubling given that militant Islamist groups across Africa have been linked to approximately 166,000 fatalities over the past decade, with the pace of violence ACCELERATING by 77%. The rising death toll from these groups is a clear and growing security risk. 👉 Canadians deserve to know what concrete measures the government is putting in place to protect our country and ensure that individuals with ties to militant Islamist networks are not permitted entry. PUBLIC SAFETY must come first. 🇨🇦 Video credit to @Tablesalt13 @gary_srp
