🚨 TDF forces recapture strategic towns, seize key supply routes and force ENDF withdrawals amid heavy fighting and drone strikes across Tigray Region
On October 19th, heavy fighting between TDF forces operating alongside Agew militia and Abiy regime forces intensified across multiple fronts in Tigray Region, including Kolla Tembien, Dega Tembien, Abergele, Adet, Zana and areas along the Axum–Shire highway. TDF and allied forces reportedly recaptured several strategic positions, disrupting ENDF supply routes and forcing withdrawals.
In the Central Zone and Tembien area, TDF and Agew forces recaptured Abergele town (Niewraq) and secured control of three major routes connecting Tembien to Mekelle through Hagere Selam, Samre and Adwa through Work Amba. Heavy artillery exchanges with ENDF, local militia and Tigray Peace Forces brought civilian movement in Abergele to a complete standstill, while overnight drone and rocket strikes targeted TDF positions across Tembien, Adet and Zana.
In northwestern Tigray, TDF forces captured Kuroma Hurai along the Axum–Shire highway, disrupting ENDF military supply lines between the two cities. Regime forces operating near the Eritrean border withdrew toward Adwa, Adigrat and other major urban centers.
Following Abiy regime drone and air strikes on Adet, TDF forces reportedly withdrew from the town toward Semema, where intense ground fighting erupted involving Army 35. The extent of casualties and military equipment losses across the various fronts remains undetermined.
