So yeah how is nobody in jail for all these AI cyber incidents? Aaron Schwartz was prosecuted to death for like 0.0001% of this.

A 25% rate of foreign-resident doctors in American programs should be alarming. This is absolutely out of control. And for what?
Look at this chart. These are American residency programs. Red = foreign resident doctors. Grey = Americans. Some hospitals are almost 100% foreign. A lot of these doctors came in on visas. Some have been tied to fake credentials and USMLE cheating scandals. I pay the premiums. I wait months to be seen. Taxpayer-funded Medicare GME money(over $21 billion a year) is training these foreign doctors instead of Americans. And I DO NOT even trust these doctors ! Why should we keep funding this?

Bring back insane asylums, workhouses, and vagrancy laws. There's nothing kind or compassionate about letting mentally-ill drug addicts roam the streets like 28 Days Later. And it makes for a terrible city experience for everyone else too.
I was surprised how bad it was just walking from the hotel to the Rails World venue. One strung-out guy wanted to fight me for some reason, another was swinging wildly and swearing profusely. Lots of zombie vibes too. Whatever Austin is doing, it's not working.

I'm going to tell my grok bots this is how WW3 started.
BREAKING: Russian drones have struck a McDonald’s warehouse in Kyiv. The attack against the American company was a double-tap strike.

***VIOLENT SEXUAL PREDATOR SENTENCED TO THREE LIFE TERMS PLUS 51 YEARS… PAROLED AND LIVING IN SACRAMENTO COUNTY*** Lloyd Clinton Edwards was sentenced to three life sentences plus 51 years for crimes committed in Chico. His original parole eligibility reportedly would not have come until he was 95. Yet California’s Board of Parole Hearings granted him parole in 2022. Today, at 47 years old, he is living in Sacramento County. The investigative reports describe horrifying violence: In August 2000, two young women agreed to give Edwards a ride after he claimed his vehicle had broken down. He pulled a handgun, held one woman around the neck, and forced them toward a secluded area. He left one woman beside a rural road, then sexually assaulted and raped the other at gunpoint. He stole their purses and the driver’s rings. DNA testing later matched Edwards to semen recovered from the car. Weeks later, Edwards entered another woman’s apartment after asking to use her telephone. He forced her into a bedroom, threatened her with a razor blade, punched her in the mouth, and strangled her until she struggled to breathe during an attempted sexual assault. Before leaving, he warned her not to call police because he knew where she lived. A separate report describes Edwards entering a college classmate’s apartment without permission while she was wearing a towel after showering. She locked herself in a bedroom and hid under a bed. He remained around the apartment for approximately 90 minutes before finally leaving. How did a sentence of three life terms plus 51 years result in parole in just 20 years? The Board of Parole Hearings owes the public a clear explanation. These survivors, and the community, deserve answers.

In California, both sides of a courtroom are legally required to consider immigration fallout when they are making a deal. Defense attorneys in non-citizen DUI cases often ask for a “wet reckless” instead of a straight DUI.
Arlington’s Commonwealth’s Attorney testified that her office has a DUI policy specifically for DACA recipients. In a small number of cases, prosecutors have considered changing a DUI to a different first-degree misdemeanor so the defendant can renew DACA status. (We don’t have first-degree misdemeanors - they are called Class 1 misdemeanors - surprised an elected prosecutor doesn’t know that). She says the defendant is still held accountable and the original DUI charge remains visible. But DACA status is a factor in the plea resolution, one that an American citizen charged with the same offense cannot invoke. Should immigration status affect which crime appears on a defendant’s record? Source: Dehghani-Tafti deposition, p. 89, lines 6–22.

Zuck launched their Mac app today. We're about to launch ours. Crazy to think that our customer-supported family-run business is keeping up with the pace of the tech giants just cranking away in the middle of the woods here. That's the level playing field of AI.

Creating ultra-restrictive, intentionally leaky regulatory agencies would allow adversaries to front-run all research and development - a clear national security threat. The language in these bills is plainly aggressive in their goal to weaken US tech leadership and innovation.
A lot of the EA AI safety x risk people have avoided talking about the policies they support to address their concerns with AI, but a look at some of the laws that EA orgs do support should send a chill down your spine
