But Leguizamo still claimed to have family in Puerto Rico during a 2017 talk show appearance. The truth of his family history was confirmed in a 2022 episode of Finding Your Roots. He claimed that he had believed his family had connections to Puerto Rico because there is a barrio there with his surname. But that story doesn’t explain the very specific untrue claims he’s made about his family over the years. All this time he’s been whining about other actors not matching the ethnicity of the roles while lying about his own ethnicity. He also appears to have lied about his age throughout his career, making himself 4 years younger.
