🚨Housing Secretary Rayner ignores call to probe her boss’s £55m loans to City owner
Angela Rayner’s job is housing. She is supposed to police how taxpayer cash builds homes. Yet she has stayed completely silent after a developer asked her to examine £55 million in public loans signed off in 2017 to property companies controlled by Sheikh Mansour, Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi owner.
Andy Burnham, then Greater Manchester mayor, chaired the meetings that approved them. The money was repaid, but the rates stay secret and the schemes delivered virtually no affordable homes. Rayner owes her Cabinet job to Burnham. When the minister responsible for housing refuses even to look at her own prime minister’s old housing deals, it looks less like caution and more like protection. Public money for homes should not get a free pass because of party loyalty.

I'm still banging the leasehold drum and what Harry's out together here is quite chilling. Even with a new PM, it feels like Labour is going to do less for leaseholders than @michaelgove planned to do had the Tories longer in office. Please respond to the consultation.

This is just not true. As soon as I became foreign secretary I asked the security services the same question and they replied that there was no evidence of any successful interference in the 2016 referendum, by Russia or any other power.
Either the security services have changed their view - which would be very odd - or Burnham is lying about what he has been told. After all Starmer was in power for two years and had access to exactly the same information.
