You can’t hold government accountable for rules you can’t find.
The GOOD Act would bring agency guidance into the light and make it searchable and accessible to the public.
@AFPhq is proud to join @ceidotorg in calling on the Senate to get this bipartisan transparency reform across the finish line.
We’ve spent decades counting regulations while largely ignoring the regulatory dark matter surrounding them: guidance, memos, FAQs, letters, interpretations and more.

The Senate needs to put the new permitting reform deal on the floor within a week.
Clearly Rs and Ds have >99% of a deal ready. Otherwise they wouldn’t have pitched it to Trump.
Trump agreed, miraculously (and correctly), to unblock 34 wind projects to seal the deal.
The stars are aligned.
Permitting reform is by far the most important issue for affordability, which voters say is priority #1.
Both the Senate and House have plenty of time on their schedules.
Tell your Senator you want the permitting deal released and voted on now!
And if your Senator tries to delay permitting reform until after the election, tell them the best way to get voted back into their job is to actually do their job now.

🔥BREAKING: I just learned how common-sense the @CMSGov actions were to remove phantom enrollees in federal exchange states.
Here is what they did. And this should not be controversial in any way, unless you support fraud, sending billions of dollars to insurers on behalf of phantoms, and large taxpayer-financed commissions for unscrupulous brokers who made things up on applications, including creating fake applicants.
First, enrollees had to meet 4 criteria: 1) have an application submitted by an agent or broker that lacks a Social Security number or immigration number; 2) have no record of actual contact with the insurer; 3) pay $0 in premiums themselves (meaning taxpayers paid 100% of the premium); and 4) have NO medical claims. Of note, the combination of these factors is a red flag for a potential phantom enrollee.
Second, assuming those 4 criteria were met, the insurer sent the enrollee two forms of notice and gave them 30 days to respond.
Third, if there was no response, CMS determined the enrollment to be unauthorized, and it was canceled. (Of note, insurers have large incentives to get in touch with the enrollee to keep that subsidy payment flowing.)
IMPORTANT DETAIL THAT SAFEGUARDS LEGITIMATE ENROLLEES: CMS has a safeguard in place. If a legitimate enrollee was affected, they can contact the call center, provide a verified Social Security number, and be reinstated.
.@DrOzCMS: We took major action today to crack down on Obamacare fraud — banning all new agent and broker registrations and removing 750,000+ fraudulent enrolees from the program. More progress.

For far too long, rampant fraud in the taxpayer-funded ACA has been treated as the cost of doing business.
Kudos to @VP, @HHSgov, and the administration for taking this problem seriously and restoring accountability.
Fraud doesn't just waste taxpayer dollars, it undermines care for the truly vulnerable Americans these programs are meant to serve.
Fixing it isn't partisan. It's common sense.
