Some disabled veterans could lose housing assistance simply because their VA disability compensation pushes them above the income threshold. That’s why I supported the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act, a new law that protects disability compensation when determining eligibility for housing assistance.

On World Alzheimer’s Day, I’m thinking about the families who know firsthand how heartbreaking Alzheimer’s can be. As a proud cosponsor of the Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention Act, I know that more must be done to expand access to tools that can identify signs of dementia earlier. Earlier answers can mean more time to plan, prepare, and make crucial decisions.

Had a productive meeting with the IL Pork Producers to discuss the challenges facing farmers, including Prop 12. Illinois is the fourth largest pork producing state in the country. Our farmers shouldn't have to change the way they raise their livestock to appease politicians in California.

Last night, I had the honor of spending time with some of our Southern Illinois veterans during their Honor Flight visit to Washington. They answered the call to serve our country and we can’t thank them enough for the sacrifices they've made. Southern Illinois is proud of our veterans and we’ll always have their backs!

Long before I served in Congress, I grew up in a family trucking company. From washing the trucks, to delivering goods, to running the business – I’ve done it all. I know firsthand the hard work and long hours it takes to keep America moving. So to all the truckers out there, Happy National Truck Driver Appreciation Week! Thank you for what you do.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember. We remember the 2,977 innocent lives that were lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the brave first responders who ran toward the danger to save others. And we remember the courage and unity that brought our country together. We will never forget.

Seems like a simple choice to me!

It's hard to believe it's been a year since we lost Charlie Kirk. He was a fighter who never backed down from what he believed in, as he inspired countless young Americans to speak up and get involved. Charlie was taken from us far too soon, but his legacy lives on. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.

Republicans are united around securing the border, strengthening our military, and delivering results. Democrats? They're united in defending socialism. I'll gladly take results over socialism any day.
