Sim, a palavra alemã “Muselmann”, literalmente “muçulmano”, era usada no jargão dos campos nazistas. Mas não para designar os judeus como “muçulmanos”, muito menos para indicar que o antissemitismo nazista se dirigia aos “povos semitas” em geral, como @FranceskAlbs sugere.
Em Auschwitz, Muselmann designava o prisioneiro reduzido pela fome, exaustão e violência a um estado extremo de debilidade física e apatia, geralmente próximo da morte. O próprio Museu de Auschwitz registra esse significado e ressalta que a origem exata do emprego da palavra permanece incerta.
Primo Levi descreve os Muselmänner em “É isto um homem?” como os “submersos” (sommersi). Ou seja, a massa de prisioneiros destruídos, debilitados e destinados à seleção e à morte.
Portanto, pegar a tradução literal de Muselmann e apresentá-la como se revelasse algo sobre quem era o alvo do antissemitismo nazista é retirar uma palavra do jargão concentracionário de seu contexto histórico e atribuir-lhe um significado que ela não tinha.
O termo existiu. O sentido sugerido por Albanese, não. E a distorção histórica que ela opera não é por acaso. É parte de um projeto político de desjudaização da Shoá e de diluição do antissemitismo, deslocando os judeus do centro de sua própria história de perseguição e extermínio.
Francesca Albanese diz que judeus em campos de extermínio nazistas “eram chamados de muçulmanos”.
A realidade, segundo historiador Johann Chapoutot:

Yesterday a next generation B-21 Stealth Bomber left a desert runway and climbed out over the fence like it had no interest in being photographed. That’s the next American strategic bomber, the one built to replace the B-2, and the public schedule still has it becoming operational in 2027.
While governments rehearse speeches and walk out of halls, this thing exists so that the people currently probing for weakness have to keep guessing whether the answer is already airborne.
It won’t be asking the UN for permission and it sure as hell won’t care who left the room. That’s the point of building it.
