A federal judge said that police conducted an "unconstitutional warrantless search" by using Flock cameras to reconstruct a woman's travels without probable cause. This is one of the first judicial lines drawn in the sand regarding Flock cameras. A deputy in Oklahoma began tailing a driver simply because her vehicle had California license plates. He searched a month's worth of her movement history using Flock and other databases without a warrant. The district judge ruled that using Flock's network to reconstruct a driver's private long-term travel history constitutes "indiscriminate mass surveillance" and a Fourth Amendment search requiring probable cause and a warrant. It's very likely this issue will reach SCOTUS.

Zach Bryan has the opportunity to bring on the funniest surprise guest vocalist ever tonight.
Tonight at Gillette Stadium, Zach Bryan, one of the biggest country music artists in the world, wore a Free Palestine shirt onstage. Gillette Stadium is owned by Robert Kraft, who pushed Ed Sheeran and his promoter to drop Macklemore from his tour. Bryan isn’t just a major country artist. He is one of the biggest live draws in music, filling stadiums across the United States and in major cities around the world. Bryan served eight years on active duty in the US Navy and served overseas in Bahrain and Djibouti. Members of Bryan’s band also wore shirts supporting the Palestinian cause, including his drummer, who wore a jersey honoring the memory of Hind Rajab. Zach Bryan has a second show at Gillette Stadium tomorrow, Saturday night.

"Departed this earth a skin sack full of fungus with his mouth glued to a radio tower" is actually my Uncle Craig's epitaph.
For decades, a grisly mystery has buzzed around one fly-killing fungi: No matter when the fungus infects a fly, it always dies at sunset. Now scientists have discovered why. sciencenews.org/article/fly-…

Cool story. Then what happened?
The day that Biden grew so angry at Netanyahu that he nearly cut him off: "He was just completely fed up with everything and I think at that moment he was ready to just say, 'I’m done,'" @brett_mcgurk recalls as he releases "Brink," his memoir of Gaza war. nytimes.com/2026/10/01/us/po…

Little terrified of the implication if he believes nothing he's been publicly accused of thus far currently warrants setting the record straight.
For the last 10 years, I have ignored false and misleading stories about me and focused on the work. But the cycle has gotten out of control where old lies get repeated as fact, new ones get added, and the record becomes increasingly distorted. So from time to time, I’m going to respond, not to every allegation. But when the truth matters, I’ll put the facts and supporting information out publicly, and people can judge for themselves.

My favorite part of this article is one of the visiting scholars pointing out that by Olah’s logic he is by far the worst slaver in history and he must immediately give up this abhorrent and immensely lucrative project, which anthropic people ignored.
