I recently compiled a good chronology of the residential schools problem in Canada, which reveals a track record of the Government of Canada being the central problem, (as they continue to disregard Canadian lives with MAID): brotherhoodofstjoseph.ca/doc

This is exactly the type of thing that makes MAID a slippery slope. People start equating actual murder with it and murder itself starts to have more in common with “morally acceptable” behaviour.

"SHE flew to him and paid him $4,000 to murder her" She was 32. She did not get "groomed." If this is "grooming" (like literally everything when it comes to females) then how is Canada's euthanasia programs not "grooming" according to the New York Post

Attention, ignorant know-nothing journalists and the people who take them seriously: Women cannot "answer the call to become Catholic priests" because only men are called by God to become Catholic priests and only men can be validly ordained by the Catholic Church. Women can call themselves "priests" and "Catholic" the same as they can call themselves the reincarnation of Cleopatra but they are not and can never be Catholic priests. And, no, that does not diminish the stature of Catholic women. Priests are not "better" than any other members of the Church. They are not "better" than lay women. They are not "better" than lay men. They simply have a unique role, appointed to them by Christ Himself beginning with Peter, who was, as the Bible itself documents, a far from perfect human being. Unfortunately, for feminist women it's all about assuaging their prickly egos. And "joining the club" like the Church is akin to Augusta National in the 1980's. For feminists, it is NOT about serving the Church. It is NOT about serving Christ. Men and women who are not priests or even members of religious orders can equally serve the Church - and Christ - without ever being ordained. Or without ever becoming a monk or nun. Believe it or not, a Catholic layperson can even become a saint.

I told a teacher I don’t believe in “gender identity.” Her reaction suggested she’d never encountered that perspective before. Like so many people, she seemed to assume that TQ+++ was a natural extension of LG(B). Everyone has been gaslit for decades -- especially teachers -- that 'gender identity' exists and is as valid in its existence as sexual orientation and MORE real than biological sex. I had to tell her, "Look, I am standing here as a lesbian telling you that the 'T' has nothing to do with sexual orientation and actually works against the reality of homosexuality. It's telling young people that men can be lesbians and women can be gay men. It teaches effeminate boys and tomboy girls they could actually be 'born in the wrong body' instead of teaching self-confidence in themselves in their perfectly healthy bodies. She couldn’t seem to grasp what I was saying: that rigid ideas about gender roles are regressive and harmful, particularly for children who don’t conform to stereotypes. Instead of teaching them to accept themselves as they are, we risk teaching them that there’s something wrong with them that needs explaining.
I enjoyed this panel and the lively audience interaction. Allowing TQ+ identitarianism to take over the LGB rights movement has been a disaster for LGB people. The so-called “LGBTQ+ community” is a movement based on belief in universal gender identity. Lumping LGB together with TQ+ makes no more sense than having a “community” of vegans and chicken farmers.

By all means resist, but if you resist in the name of the false gods of liberalism, Enlightenment, ethnic purity, jingoistic nostalgia, or anything other than return to the Christian faith that built our civilization, you will not get to the root of the problem and ultimately you will fail. What Islamists understand that too many Westerners, left and right, do not understand is that in the long run you cannot defeat religion except with religion. And they do not understand it because they are in their different ways blinded by attachment to the things of this world – economic wellbeing, political power, freedom, pleasure, security, national pride – things which have their place but have become idols. Hence, again and again, they flail about looking for some secular political solution, whether left-wing or right-wing, to a problem that is at bottom theological.

The normalization of casual sex destroyed our comprehension of what sex is, and what it has to do with healthy relationships. Women have one reproductive strategy: high investment. Men have two strategies: high investment (which is collaborative, and has everything to do with love) and no investment (which is predatory, and is the antithesis of love). That may sound like an exaggeration, but it isn’t. The ‘no investment’ strategy of men attempts to stick a woman with a child to raise alone, or with a cuckolded partner. It has a consensual form, and a non-consensual form. Does any of that sound loving to you? I didn’t think so. For men, producing a child with a trivial effort is the ultimate evolutionary bargain. It’s something like winning the lottery. For women, being stuck with a baby and no partner is the inverse, like being maimed in car wreck. So men are predisposed to be on the lookout for fertile women who are gullible enough to go to bed with them without locking down a commitment. And women are predisposed to avoid such encounters at all costs. Or at least they were before birth control + abortion changed the stakes and the culture. Women, who have always been the gatekeepers of sex, have been lured into embracing men at their worst. And they’ve started behaving and thinking like them too. There is actually a lot of truth in the idea that “rape culture” has been normalized. Casual sex is not rape by any stretch, but it comes from the same predatory branch of the tree. And before you jump down my throat for saying that, notice just how commonplace “consensual con-consent” has become. That IS normalized rape culture. It comes from the idea that sex is a kind of play. Just like kids playing with toy tanks and soldiers, it’s harmless because the stakes are low and no one actually gets hurt. But it turns out that’s not true. Casual sex is like playing with fire. Actually, it’s worse. Many who play with fire get away with it. They may even learn how to wield it to great effect. The exact opposite is true with sex. If you play with having sex with people that you don’t love, you are damaging the very architecture you will need to form a healthy romantic partnership. Even worse if they bring the same selfish mindset to the alter and the bedroom. For young people participating in their generation’s culture, sex now IS antagonistic and predatory. Most of them don’t know there is any other kind. It’s just some story, like Santa Clause. Not only has this shift in sexual culture obliterated the tools to forge and tend a healthy marriage, but it has also broken the motivational structure that built civilization. —- Exhibit A bellow. Please don’t jump on her. She is voicing a false sophistication of her era. And although I believe what she has said is wrong, exactly why it is wrong, and to what degree it is wrong, requires careful thought.
A woman’s body isn’t something men are entitled to. If you believe women owe you sex, you’re part of the problem that normalises rape culture. It really is that simple

Chris Rock just nailed one of the biggest problems with wokeness. Helping people who feel marginalized is good. He says so himself. The trouble starts when a good cause becomes an institution. The first few witches were real. Then you open a witch office. Now there are salaries, budgets and pensions to justify, and the office needs a steady supply of witches to keep existing. That’s the trap. Once a cause becomes a career, solving the problem means losing your job. So the problem never gets solved. It just keeps getting redefined. A system built to find wrongdoing will keep finding it, whether it’s there or not.

Homosexuality is not a special class of sin exempt from repentance. We would never say this about two married people having an affair, or a man and a child. It is objectively true that disordered sexual attraction is sinful and the desire to engage in it does not exempt the person from repentance. It is also objectively true that gay people do not need to change before they come to the Lord. They come as they are and let God change their desires. It’s important when evangelizing in that community to emphasize that they are not required to fix their disordered attraction before seeking Jesus and His redemption. They just need to be prepared for and open to the conviction that will come and the sanctification that will follow true faith.

Contraception is responsible for the death of romance. True romance requires complete commitment, i.e. marriage, and finds its completion in procreation, the offspring being the fruit of the spouses’ love. By inhibiting procreation, contraception renders romance unfruitful.

People online LOVE arguing about hell. Unfortunately, this discourse often inverts the lens by which it views standard Christian teachings, making them something they are not. Worse yet, the fairly established “goods” of Jesus and heaven are rebranded. God’s grace, literally an unfathomably precious and transforming gift, becomes some sort of manipulation tactic. Take, for instance, this objection: “But I could never be happy without [Loved One] in Heaven!” This upends the offer of eternal union with God. It takes the prospect of heaven and turns it into an opportunity to cut us off from loved ones. This forces us to either consider ourselves the chosen, uncaring elite or reject God ourselves in favor of accompanying our earthly loved into their own darkness. Although this mindset appears to promote a love for others, one of the two great commandments, in expressing the role that unique person and our relationship with him has in our happiness, it misplaces the Source of that love and happiness in the first place. For Christians, “God is love” (1 John 4:8) and the efficient cause of all being (Exod. 3:14, ST I. Q 2. A 3), including the love we have for our friends and family. It does not follow that we love less when united perfectly to the source of love, which is what union with God in heaven is, especially if the reason is the absence of someone who has rejected that source of love. If heaven became less heavenly because something other than God is not there, then it was never heaven in the first place. Read more here: bit.ly/4jUjGF5

Very strange sentiments. Cannibalism is repulsive for very deep reasons beyond just socialization. It’s part of the three transcendental of truth, beauty and goodness.
I do eat chicken. I don't have access to eating humans in any legal way. I probably would do so if I needed to survive, but otherwise there are both legal and hygienic reasons not to do so. I also have aversion to it due to socialization. In another environment, perhaps I wouldnt

This is accurate. To be precise, Pope Leo XIV’s Freedom Under Grace contains a 2012 address in which he explicitly identifies abortion, homosexual lifestyles and euthanasia as contrary to the Gospel. He explains how the media shapes public attitudes towards these issues, often portraying Catholic moral teaching as harsh, ideological or uncaring. What is particularly interesting is his insistence that the Church must respond not by retreating from difficult moral truths, but through more intelligent and persuasive evangelisation, rooted in Scripture and the Church Fathers. These are his own words from before his election, deliberately included in a collection published during his pontificate.
In Pope Leo's new book, he has an extended section explaining that LGBT and abortion are contrary to Catholic teaching and advising Catholics how to respond to media narratives that push against Catholic ethics and morals.

He wasn’t sent to prison because of a lenient plea deal offered by then-Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price. In 2023, after Price took office on a platform of reducing incarceration, her office offered a deal that dropped the attempted-murder charge and one poisoning count. Xu pleaded no contest to a single felony poisoning count. A probation officer’s recommendation treating it as a first offense, noting Xu was highly educated, employed, and living with his wife and children, and expressing hope he would use a “second chance.” The victim eventually stopping her opposition to the plea (described as worn down by the process). A defense toxicologist’s report disputing long-term health effects, which limited restitution to about $7,000 instead of the nearly $500,000 sought. Price was later recalled by voters, in part over criticisms of her lenient plea deals
