I am late to this silliness but I am 100% with Caleb. There is a difference between a focus of trying to make money or trying to be right or smart. Caleb has a system built around making money and forcing discipline if the market tells him he is wrong. He is an entrepreneur traveling the world and putting his balls on the line with opinions every day and admitting when he is wrong. Mad respect from me. Wall Street "experts" are consumed with selling their stories and dismissing others opinions. We are all wrong daily with opinions and trying to say you are right and they are wrong with little to no skin in the game is sad. I happen to agree with the statement "rates don't matter" when it comes to making money because the key is nothing always matters. What matters is letting the market, which knows everything, to tell you if you were wrong with your views to fight another day trying to make money instead of trying to be right. Keep up the good work Caleb and fight the bullies!

This is how nuts the OBR process is. They believe that more migration will lower the debt. And they punish politicians when migration is "too low". It's a constant upward pressure on migration. The OBR must be abolished.

So literally EVERYONE warned that IRGC terrorists were flooding into the UK. Yet @andyburnham and Labour refused to listen. Instead, they chaperoned them in and put them up in hotels at the taxpayers expense. Opting to jail Danny Tommo for trying to stop the invasion.
🚨 BREAKING: Counter Terror Police have rearrested the five men over the major incident near RAF Fairford on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act They are reportedly investigating whether it was a suspected bomb plot linked to Iran

i was having dinner with someone recently who asked why i spend so much time reading & posting on x. she had a pretty negative perception of the platform mostly shaped by the mainstream narrative around it. my answer was simple. x is where the future gets beta tested. you basically get to watch ppl build things, talk through ideas, show off stuff, & argue about where everything is going, way way before it reaches anyone else. there really isn’t another surface on the internet quite like it.

Why?
The lengths our establishment goes to in order to ensure the wellbeing of the predominantly young African men invading our country is quite remarkable. Ask yourselves - why?

Interesting comments from @btc_overflow here on BTCTC prefs. I think there's another important way to look at this: scale relative to the capital market you’re operating in. First, huge credit should go to @Strive. It's a fantastic company and there is a lot to learn from the way it has structured and developed $SATA. The same is true of @Strategy, which continues to pioneer this entire sector and create a playbook that others can learn from. Everyone building in this space benefits from what these companies have done. But comparing absolute US and UK trading volumes only tells part of the story. Smarter Web now holds 2,747 Bitcoin. If MORE launches with an initial £10-25m raise, that might look small through a US-market lens. But SATA's initial IPO raised $160m. Adjust for the enormous difference in size and liquidity between the US and UK equity markets, and £10-25m starts to look very different. If, purely for illustration, you assume the relevant UK capital market is around 20x smaller, SATA's $160m launch translates to only around $8m on a relative market-size basis (I am using estimates here). That's why I think the more interesting question isn't: "Can MORE match SATA's absolute dollar issuance or trading liquidity?" Of course it can’t - nor should that be the benchmark. The better questions are: how large can MORE become relative to its starting point, how much capital can it attract relative to its addressable market, and what level of secondary-market liquidity can it develop relative to normal UK trading volumes? There's another potentially important difference here too. The UK has a long-established culture of income investing and, as a market, has historically placed considerably more emphasis on yield than the growth-dominated US equity market. That could make the UK a particularly interesting market in which to launch a yield-focused instrument. And if the initial company research is anything to go by, MORE could do something else that is perhaps underappreciated: help make the investment case for SWC's ordinary equity clearer. The two securities don't have to compete for the same investor. They can serve different pools of capital and different objectives - MORE for investors attracted to yield and SWC for investors seeking the upside and growth characteristics of the ordinary equity. Two securities working with each other, not against each other. Different capital markets require different benchmarks. The US is unquestionably in a class of its own when it comes to capital-market depth and liquidity. But that doesn't mean this model only works in the US. If anything, successfully adapting the model pioneered by Strategy and developed further by companies such as Strive to markets with very different investor bases and capital-market structures would demonstrate something much more important: ...that in my opinion the model travels.
The challenge in scaling a BTCTC pref in a non-US market is much greater than people realize. I don't mean to pick on $SWC here, I hope its upcoming pref program is successful. But just to illustrate the liquidity gap with another top global market, for trailing 5 trading days: - $STRC posted 109x the value traded of SWC. - $SATA posted 47x the value traded of SWC. In other words, the value traded of even just Strategy and Strive's preferred shares is orders of magnitude greater than SWC's common equity (aggregated across its 3 listings). Expectation for value traded of an SWC preferred would be yet another order of magnitude difference. To be clear, SWC can still be successful relative to its market cap, I'm not arguing against this. And this limited comparison is not necessarily a full reflection of liquidity conditions in the US and the UK. Nonetheless, the differences in liquidity between US markets and non-US markets are much greater than people realize. US markets are simply in a class of their own when it comes to scale.

Listening to these civil servants in Parliament, what strikes me most is the utter disconnect from what millions of people are going through in the private sector. It is a completely different world. For millions of workers and small business owners, there is no guaranteed pay rise. No automatic progression. No cosy pension. No comfortable assumption that your job will still exist next year. If the company you work for runs out of money, that's it. It’s over. Done. If your small business cannot pay its bills, that's it. If customers disappear, costs rise, or things go south? There are consequences. People lose their jobs. Salaries are cut. Businesses go bust. It’s tough. Always is. I have been there and done that. Every month, businesses have to find the money for wages, rent, energy, tax. A plumber has to find customers. A farmer has to make the numbers work. A factory has to remain competitive. A pub has to somehow survive another year of rising costs. An entrepreneur can work every hour of the day and still end up with nothing. There is no rest, it goes on and on and on. Sunday mornings, and every other hour of the week. That’s the reality. It’s one I’ve lived in for decades, along with millions of others. Then you listen to the state bureaucracy and it sounds as though none of this exists. Four day weeks. No accountability. Phone off at the weekend. Impossible to get sacked. The bureaucrats chuck these numbers around with ZERO appreciation of where it comes from - it is insulting arrogance. That is OUR money. Every pound government spends first has to come from somewhere. Ultimately, it comes from the productive economy, productive Britain. From the people working, trading, investing and taking risks. They are the ones who have my respect. There are good people in the civil service. But the system is just so broken. Government, and the people working within it, has become too insulated from the economic reality experienced by the people who actually have to fund it. A Restore Britain Government will expect the state to understand something that every small-business owner already knows through brutal first-hand experience. Money is finite, performance matters and failure MUST have consequences. Departments should have clear objectives. Lines of accountability. Not endless silos where nobody takes responsibility. Senior officials should be accountable for delivering them. Poor performance should not disappear into yet another bullshit review. They should be sacked. In fact, for the very worst offenders the punishment should be more severe and we will aim to pursue prosecutions where the loss of taxpayer money has been so vast. And we should bring FAR more private-sector experience into government. I want people who have built businesses, worked on building sites, run farms and actually had to deliver results directly involved in reshaping and restoring the British state. On one side are millions of people being told to work harder, pay more tax, accept worse services and lower their expectations - all to fund a life of luxury for the endless conveyor belt of freeloading Somalis and Afghans. On the other is a state that permanently demands more of OUR money while accepting remarkably little responsibility for its own failures. The system is bent, broken and corrupt. The state is funded by the people. It works for the people. And under Restore Britain, it will finally be expected to deliver for the people.

The interesting question isn’t whether some figures want the brakes applied to AI progress It’s whether the public will notice when the proposed safety rules, transparency requirements, or capability pauses systematically protect certain classes of claims more than others.
