Elon, I'm going to be honest.
I don't think it's possible for Grok to catch up with OpenAI or Anthropic at this point.
They almost certainly have some impressive level of recursive self improvement going on internally. Their models are writing code, running experiments and speeding up research for the next model.
Every month they get faster. You're not just 3 months behind. You're 3 months behind a rocket that's still accelerating.
I genuinely hope you prove me wrong though. I'm rooting for Grok.

In one of the most inspiring stories of maternal courage, a cat named Scarlett became a global symbol of bravery in 1996.
When a fire broke out in an abandoned garage in Brooklyn, New York, Scarlett repeatedly ran back into the burning building — five times — to rescue each of her five kittens one by one. Despite thick smoke and intense flames, she refused to stop until all her babies were safe.
The devoted mother suffered severe injuries in the process. Her eyes were blistered shut, her face, ears, and paws were badly burned, and much of her fur was scorched. After carrying out the final kitten, she gently touched each one with her nose to ensure they were alive, then collapsed from exhaustion and pain.
Firefighters who witnessed her extraordinary efforts rushed Scarlett and her kittens to a veterinary hospital for emergency treatment. The story quickly captured the hearts of people around the world. Scarlett made a full recovery and was adopted by a loving family, while her kittens also found safe, caring homes.
To this day, Scarlett remains a powerful reminder of the incredible strength of a mother’s love.

Don’t get the wrong idea, OpenAI has much better models than the ones we saw today. And I mean MUCH better. The gap is honestly hard to even put into words.
The main bottleneck right now is compute. They’re trying to move as fast as they can to bring today’s models to Chat mode, while also working on Ultrafast mode and persistent agents.
We’re going to see a lot more at DevDay.
I’ve also passed along a lot of your feedback, especially from Plus users, to people on the team, and they were very receptive to it.
I really hope they manage to surprise us even more.

Whole milk has had cream taken out of it. A cow gives milk at 3.5 to 5% fat. Whole milk in the carton is 3.25%. The FDA standard for milk says you can pull fat off to hit that number, and that's how it's done.
All the milk in the case comes off one machine. Raw milk goes into a centrifuge. Fat is lighter than water, so the cream spins to the middle and the skim spins to the wall. Two pipes come off the separator, one cream and one skim.
Everything after that is a mix. Skim plus a little cream is 1%, a little more is 2%, and 3.25% is whole. Half and half is 10.5% and heavy cream is 36%. The plant sets the ratio and fills the carton.
There is no such thing as a 2% cow. It's whole milk with some of the cream pulled off, in a different carton at a different price. The cream that came off goes to the churn and comes back as butter.
