Yes.
I'm optimistic about the pushback to the "Indians don't play football" meme. Conservative activists fought wokeness and were able to make gains because they could appeal to smart people outside the conservative bubble and win them over. Principles like fairness, individual rights, meritocracy. That has broad appeal. What is the argument for ethnonationalism on the right now? "Bro you've got to play football. Oh you're at the game? Still, um...your SAT score was too high. But you shouldn't go too low either, we don't want you being like blacks. Whatever the white average is right now, that's the score you've got to get. Ok, you know what? I don't owe you an explanation. I just want homogeneity." You'll mobilize a lot of chuds being like this. But you're making everyone with any intellectual honesty, decency, or need for consistency with disgust. It's so transparently hateful and stupid. This can achieve short run victories. But ideas this offensive to the sensibilities and ideals of all smart people tend to lose in the end.

Rufo criticizes Indian Americans for studying too much. This is a weird thing to say in light of the Texas photo that first brought anti Indian sentiment to light. The students were at a Texas football game, wearing Texas colors and making the Hook 'em Horns sign, not studying.

I’ll take $5,000 dollars over socialism. It’s not a hard choice. Vote RED!
Community note
Opposing socialism on ideological grounds while simultaneously advocating for government-issued "free money" represents a contradiction, as state-funded monetary benefits are a form of public resource distribution rather than free-market capitalism. britannica.com/money/socialis

I got an email inviting me to participate in a documentary on my book. The email was very professionally written, the alleged writer is a real name in tv production, and the right company and company logo were in the email. Apart from the unusual request, it was from a misspelled aol account. These author scams are just cruel.

But if you do this you risk alienating the activists. America is over influenced by party activists.
Most American voters want Republicans to reject people like Candace Owens, and Democrats to reject people like Hasan Piker.

Not only is this more ambitious than Scandinavian social democracy and their Social Democrat platforms, it is more ambitious than the platforms of partes to the left of the Social Democrats, like the Danish Red-Green Alliance or Sweden's Left Party. These parties do not propose abolishing debt, landlords, mortgages, rent, or for profit food industries. program.dsausa.org/

When I worked in the Hart Senate Office Building, I would often see Justice Antonin Scalia walking down 2nd Street from the Supreme Court to attend daily Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. It was a quiet reminder that even one of the nation’s most consequential jurists could move about Washington with little fanfare. It’s sad how much our politics—and our civic culture—have changed.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett details threats she and her family have faced: “I didn't expect that performing this service was going to put me in the position of explaining to my children what a bulletproof vest was and why I had to wear one.”

If we're comparing this to the Cold War, health insurance coverage and college attendance are also higher.
The middle class actually isn't falling behind, they're getting ahead. But everyone thinks they're falling behind because they're constantly interacting with super-rich people online, and seeing rich people's lifestyles on Instagram.

NEW: Since Donald Trump’s re-election, the Supreme Court has issued 44 orders relating to the president. The court sided with him 25 times, against him 11 times, and issued mixed rulings 8 times. Here is how each justice voted each time (“likely vote” = presumed to be in the majority if they did not state a dissent):

My personal view is SCOTUS may be right that Congress shouldn't be able to insulate many/most exec branch actors from firing but, if so, the entire agency should be declared unconstitutional and Congress go back to fix, rather than creating these structures *no one* intended.

I have lots of issues with this. But most striking to me is Bush 41 at second last. Shows how little voters value foreign policy.
Pew just asked Americans, “Who has done the best job as president over the past 40 years?” The results: - Obama: 36% - Reagan: 21% - Trump: 19% - Clinton: 11% - W. Bush: 4% - H.W. Bush: 3% - Biden: 2% 49% of Americans named a Democrat, 47% named a Republican.

Nebraska’s nonpartisan legislature offers a real-world example of politics without formal party teams. More shifting coalitions. Less pressure to align with national politics. Arguably better representation as a result. medium.com/3streams/what-neb…
